It definetely depends on the maturity level of both parties...
A good age is 16, mostly because it's when people get their driver's licenses, so they can transport themselves on the date. Don't rush though...you've got a lot of time to be dating! Good luck, babe!

Ok, this is a good one...
As a parent of five, I have a hard time with that one. Its best to base an opion on the maturity of the one asking.
My children, boys and girls have to show me that there is a good amount of responsibility in them. Which they do very well every day. I have a 17 year old that didnt want to date till she was sixteen and I have a thirteen year old who wants to wait till about fifteen. It really is something that I let my kids show me they are ready for.
But in reality, I would prefer that my teens double date at fifteen to prepare them for sixteen. By double date, I mean with an older couple that will allow you to have private time within the boundries of staying close but not too close. Perhaps even with another friend and companion and a chaparone. It never hurts to be cautious though.
at least give yourself till you are fifteen and talk to your parents to see how they feel if you havent already. Parents can be understanding when you least expect it and may be able to enlighten you to your delima.
Good Luck...

I think different people mature at different ages, but I would not allow anyone to date before the age of 16 or 17.

Supervised at 14 and un-supervised at 16... There has to be some trust in your choices of men before you can expect your parents to allow you to date freely... So many girls make so many bad choices.

8 or 9 grade is a good time because you know what it takes out of a relationship...at least you should.
