Ok so my first question is do you consume anything with artificial sweeteners in it. They cause me migraines...so if you do stop immediately and see if that helps.
My advice on the pain: My mom used to have migraines ALL the time. She started taking Fever-Few daily ( it does take a while to build up in your system but it does work) She hasn't had a migraine in over 10 years
also go see a chiropractor. You may be out of alignment,
As for the pain in the neck and back: I use these 2 different products (not at the same time, but both work great)
one is called BioFreeze the other is Cryo Derm.
use sparingly as they are COLD... (They even work on severe menstrual cramps when used on you abdomen)

Until you see your doctor, you will have to use over the counter medications. A combination of aspirin, tylenol, and caffeine (Excedrin migraine) is good if you use it at the very first sign of a migraine. Drinking a lot of water when you notice the symptoms beginning can also help. I find both lacking if I wait too long after the symptoms begin. Many prescription medications exist which help prevent migraines, many are older drugs which are cheaper than newer medicines that do the same thing. There are also quiet a few prescription medicines which help after the migraine begins so ask your doctor. Many food items can initiate migraines, so see if you can associate any food or drink with your migraines. Search reputable websites about migraine treatment so you can discuss options intelligently with your doctor. Remember, the older you get, migraines occur less frequently (with most people)

When you have a migraine, ice is good for the back of your neck. If you don't have a migraine, heat may help for your neck pain. I bought one of those neck wraps from Walgreens that you put in the microwave for a few minutes. Acupuncture & massage works great for neck pain, and especially for people who are naturally tense. My chiropractor doesn't adjust my neck but does acupuncture and I can't believe the difference in my muscles from it. I don't suffer from the muscle tightness as before and the migraines are nothing like they use to be. Good luck!

Stop using a pillow while sleeping.
Sleep straight.
Go regularly for a massage session.
Do some neck exercises.
Avoid intense light, loud sounds and bright sun to check migraine.
And last but not the least - Stop taking Tensions.

I agree with the Chiropractor suggestion- just make sure you do your research and pick a reputable one. They should do a thorough exam and take x-rays before they even touch you. My roommate had very similar symptoms (they usually all came together as PMS symptoms) and she would be in bed for days. She went to a chiropractor for a couple of months and she hasn't had neck pain or a migraine since.

I have this problem, too. Severe, screaming, crying, moaning neck pain that makes me want to take a knife and cut the offending nerves. This is going to sound crazy, but, you know what helps? Benadryl. Take one before you go to sleep tonight and see if it's gone in the morning.
It only helps a little, though... sigh. I've yet to find a magic bullet.
I second the advice about the chiropractor. They're surprisingly cheap. Seeing one has reduced the frequency and duration of my attacks.

this is gonna sound redundant! But, for one go buy a pillow for your bed that cradles your neck and upper spine. find a local massage spa, and get a good deep tissue or shiatsu massage every two to three weeks. this will help break up the tension in your body. The migranes are probably a result of stress that is also triggering the stiffness in your neck

Have you been referred to a physical therapist?? I would stay clear of the chiropractors til you find out what is going on in your neck. If there is a pinched nerve the chiropractor could make the situation worse. ( I know that they did with me.) With the neck you have to really be careful. Have you tried heat on your neck?

Try natural herbal supplements formulated just for headaches. They work to ease the tension that is sometimes a factor of headaches (which sounds very probable in your case). They also eliminate toxins from your body that may also be an underlying cause of the headaches. Good Luck !
