If Christ were actually here physically and I could see him working miracles it would be impossible NOT to believe in him. Since Judas was there, and had FIRST HAND knowledge of Jesus' power and truth, how could he betray Jesus?

Judas had a different agenda. It was a conflict of interest.

Judas wanted to do the impossible. To end povery, hunger, pestilance, death and he view Jesus as being able to make that possible.

He felt Jesus was putting the "plan" or "ministry" or "mission" as Judas saw it, into conflict by bashing heads with the powers that be. By making waves. By being a prophet. By doing, what Judas and the Pharasees, considered Blaphemy.

Judas seemed to think the Pharasees would scare Jesus and then Jesus would "have the fear of God" and not be so radical.

Judas never foresaw how the end would happen and that he would be responsible.

Judas never expected the Pharasees, religious people, would have Jesus beaten or Killed, just threatented, just brought before the high people of the Temple and frightened and "put in his place."

Judas was also a tool of God, predesitined to do this act.

Judas may end up in heaven as a result of this.

But remember Jesus said WE ALL HAVE THE POWER.

Have you not taken a CPR course? Jesus saved with a touch. MAybe it was, indeed, a different and simple touch, but CPR is a touch of the hand to a dead person and sometimes restores life.

Have you never watched mother with a very sick child who has 104 fever put her hand on the childs head, talk to the child and the child's spritis rise up and by the next day the fever is down.

Depression is when the one you love leaves your or shuns you, but when they let you know things are all right, you feel better and the depression breaks.

We all have the power to do things.

It is up to each of us.

I requries more than putting on a suit, tie and walking door to door with a bible saying "have you heard the word."

There is more to it than that.

Showing what the word is about.

Showing what Jesus was about.

Jesus didn't preach the bible to Lepards, he tended to them at what Judas or you or I would consider great risk and cured them.

We can't do everything he did in our limited capaicites, but we can do something.

Doing is a lot different than talking.

Don't just talk the bible DO Jesus. Work some minor miracles.

People who saw Jesus in the flesh did not believe he was the Son of God.

Judas could betray Jesus because Judas kept a foot in the world of the theologian-scholars. He believed that Jesus had some great ideas and whatnot, and he had an agenda for Jesus--which he didn't clear with Jesus but tried to orchestrate by getting him together with his people.

there were plenty of others that also didn't believe and saw what Jesus did. Oh they prob thought Jesus was a great teacher etc, but that doesn't mean they accepted Him as Saviour-Judas included...
John 6:70 Jesus says of Judas "have not I chosen you 12 and 1 of you is a devil?"

We as believers do have knowledge of Jesus' power and truth, this comes to us when we accept Him as our Saviour and receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. That is why Jesus also told us the kingdom of heaven is within.

Well, think of satan. Lucifer was in the very presence of God and yet he chose to try and exalt himself higher than God. Judas never really believed in Jesus; he was very interested in his own agenda. Time and again the bible shows that he was selfish (as when he was upset when the woman used the expensive perfume to annoint Jesus.....the bible says Judas was annoyed because he took money from the purse).

A heart set on darkness will not recognize light, it will refuse all evidence. I thank God that your heart recognizes who He is. As Jesus said to Thomas, "you see and believe, but blessed are they who do not see....and yet believe".

He could betray Him the same way Adam and Eve could betray Him.
