I wouldn't worry about them having it or the parents throwing it away. Make them keep it at your house! If they are so selfish they won't want it because they don't like it, then take it back! Someone needs to set them straight and let them realize the world doesn't revolve around what they want!
Sorry if that sounds rude!!!! Good luck!

Gift cards are the best. Give the tomboy a gift card to the Gap, American Eagle, Macy's or Dick's Sporting Goods. The Gap has great classic clothes that and she can find things that aren't too girly.
Give the younger girl a gift card to Limited Two or one of the bigger department stores like Macy's.
Kids love to pick out their own clothes and they'll have a ball shopping on their own.

As much as we all would like to, giving a gift that isnt money when you dont know what to get is hard.
If you dont want to give just a plain gift card, try something like an iTunes gift card, they start at around 15 bucks. They can download songs that they like to their iPod or cell phone.
The older girl is a tom boy of sorts, find out what kind of things she likes and get her a gift card from her favourite store. I know it sounds lame, but sometimes it works. Just send a sweet note that you wasnt sure what to get her but you wanted to her to be happy and get what "SHE" wanted. Next time have mom and stepdad to let you know what they like, what they are getting the girls, and whats acceptable to them
Dont let Christmas be the only time you and your husband send cards or gifts. Remember to remember bdays, Valentines day and etc.

A gift card isn't a bad idea. You could do something that is personal for them, make them a scrapbook along with buying them something, or a quilt or something. Vermont teddy bears are really cute, they have ones that look like surfers, aliens, different sports themes, and they are collectible so if they like them it is something you can get them each year. This is what we send my niece, she lives all the way across the country from us, so she can be a little harder shop for because we don't know what she has or what she is into from week to week.

I think a gift card is a great idea! But, to what store, is the next question! Another good idea is a prepaid Visa. You buy it put money on it, like a gift card; but they can spend it anywhere Visa is accepted! Perfect, huh? Good luck with your step kids!

Maybe since you don't know them very well, you should take them on a shopping/bonding trip. Go to the shops and tell them they can each pick out one thing for their christmas present. That way you find out what they are into (for next year and so on) and you have a chance to build a relationship with them. A gift card is also a wonderful idea.

Sounds like gift cards are a great idea, but if you don't know much about them, get something they can use at more than one store, like a mall gift card, or a VISA gift card.
If you know any special preferences (such as music or pets) then get a card for a specific store.

The gift card is the best idea. Girls like to spend to buy their own thing anyway and what better way than to have to funds to do it with.

Hmm. this may be a stressful one. How previous are the daughters? on a similar time as i be attentive to of guys who've reported such contained in the previous, i be attentive to them very, very properly and there substitute into no longer something underlying. They have been merely being stupid, boneheaded, united states of america human beings. yet.... i won't have the ability to assert that during all situations that this would be suited. Ask him why he needs to get them panties and bras. after all, those are your daughters.
