I have found I can get some relief from using a heating pad and/or Myoflex ointment( it doesn't have that awful Ben-Gay smell) It seems to help by heating up the neck area in question ( I've had some neck pain for many years and this has helped me tremendously). You may get some temporary relief. If that doesn't do it--you may need the services of an osteopathic doctor or chiropractor. By visiting one of these types of Dr's. you could get some major relief for 6 months or more. Good Luck

Try icing it and then have your significant other give you a good massage on it.

try warm towls, if that does not work try cold towls.
