If you have not already done so, i encourage you to go to www.lls.org.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has a great resource center for patients & their families. They also have a program called First Connection, where they can pair you with patients with similar diagnosis to answer your quesitons from experience. I wish your relative the best in their fight against AML.

I am sorry about your relative. I would tell you that what you are talking about is not a treatment. Morphine is for pain. Perhaps I misunderstood the question is it too weak from Chemo? I am so sorry. I would say to contact the American Cancer Society and ask about cure rates. Ask if this is temporary and just a way to get though things or not. I am not sure what you are saying, but I sure wish you and your relative the best. I hope the sleep is for rest and recovery. I do not know about the different types of cancer. I am truly sorry.

Try looking at the Answer of Jener. It is probably really good.

How old is the relative? AML is deadly and you cannot live very long without treatment. Even elderly people with AML can take Hydrea or Vidaza without too much problem.
