Of course everybody is saying your body rots away and that's true but what they are forgetting about is there are two parts of who you are. Your body and the energy in your body. I'm not talking about spirit or something like that. I'm talking about the chemical and electrical energy that's inside your body. Since energy can not be created or destroyed it will change to a different form. What form? I don't know. Does it become part of the energy in the universe? Maybe. But I don't think your aware of the change. Or that you maintain your sense of being.

nothing on this earth is ever lost or gone it is merely transformed into something else. When you die you decompose the nutrients from your body feed plants and other organisms. So if your buried near a farm you might get recycled into a tomato and end up in the supermarket. That's where you go.

Then there are those with variations on those ideals which say we "recycle" as component to the cosmic celeb stuff of which we are a factor (Carl Sagan-like). besides, i'm hoping that enables you comprehend. i'm specific I actual have left somebody's perception out, yet they permit you to comprehend. i'm extra deistic than atheistic as i've got faith that that's called God, or divinity, is pulsing by all issues and is a factor of, yet previous all life. My non secular prepare style is Zen Buddhist, yet no longer all Zen practitioners, are "theistic" in any respect. i've got faith the engrams of our previous existences we've had are recycled till we launch any harmfulness we'd have created. i assume you should call that a mixing of naturalistic and classic eastern concept. Then (as a stable Mahayana Buddhist), i've got faith we've a option to unite with the great suggestions or come back to help different beings. My custom values those people as bodhisattvas, bigger beings who return to help others attain liberation. From a Mahayana Buddhist attitude, the tale of Jesus, is the tale of the Bodhisattva.

And, the body becomes food for other animals or fertilizer for vegetation. What's left becomes minerals.

If you are buried, then your body eventually returns to the earth, the same way all other dead things do.
If you are cremated, your body turns into ashes.
