A Buddhist friend of mine says that dogs can be reincarnated as dandelions. But, I ask, is this a move up or down the karma ladder?

reincarnation is a hindu idea originally. It is not a ladder, just a system of cause and effect.
Dogs - dandilions, not sure about that........................

p.s. did u actually mean Fact or Fiction??? You used the word FUSION. That is interesting in terms of Karma...because everything is one and is connected.

This would most certainly be a regressive position, the science of reincarnation as enunciated in the Vedic scriptures provides detailed information that there are 8,400,000 different types of material bodies, in three planetary systems within this singular universe.

The living entity whilst in the human form of life is granted the use of limited free will to either live a Godly or a spiritual life and therefore transcend the three modes of material nature and return back home to the spiritual world, or if free will is used to develop more worldly desires and activities, then those activities can be better performed in a lower species, as the human form of life is meant for self realisation and God realisation, not animalistic sense gratification.

The human form of life is very rare and should not be squandered, as to fall back into the lower species is the hell depicted in other traditions who have simplified their presentation of spiritual philosophy into a black and white format of heaven and hell.

I know that Buddhist religion/faith believes in reincarnation. However, I didn't thik that a living thing that has blood) can be reincarnated into one w/ out bood (plants). In other words, the dog can be reincarnated back into a human being or a dog, but not into a plant. Right?

Reincarnation is a fact. Even the old bible said so. Even logic proves it.

But I don't think dogs can reincarnate into a flower. I think it was a medifore, that you have to figure out.

Did you asked them whether they have actually been a dog before and died?

I dont think anyone knows this question for certain as we are still living....reincarnation is just a belief....

fact, although i do not agree with the buddhist thing that a living creature with a soul could reincarnate into something without a soul.

Down. Must have been a bad dog.

Fact, as a Buddhist I believe plants and animals have souls.

The apostle Paul wrote "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".

The Bible also says "It's appointed for man to die once, and after that, the judgment".

No mention of reincarnation, it doesn't happen.

I think you need to expand your understanding of the term "Karma"!

Love, Fate, Life & Happiness to all!

When the body dies the brain dies..there is no sensible idea behind reincarnation at all.

No pecking order either.
