I am a freshman in high school and have never dated, but I have wanted to for a while. I have a mild acne problem - is that why guys don't like me? I'm also really tall - taller than most guys. Do I scare them off? One more thing - I'm really smart, so I have the reputation of "smartest freshman" or whatever but I don't think I'm a nerd. Do guys like to date girls smarter than them?

We don't mind girls smarter then us, as long as you're not always reminding us. Try to gain some weight, we don't mind taller neither, but we do like meat on our bones. Try an acne solution, hope it's not that bad.

Michiel your day will come. The skin problem is a little thing being tall is nothing and being intelligent is a blessing . All the magazines say that guys are looking for tall slim girls with challenging intellects so don't fret over boys that cant see that you are the swan in mid growth they are just as awkward as a you are at the whole dating thing what they have is the ability to put on a show so you think they are so mature and cool . look for a guy that you think is cute and just talk to him not about any thing to intense but just at first just hi hows it going . just be casual and let them know you as you get to know him if there is a spark it will ignite and grow you ll see . patients though you have all of your life to find Mr right. and he is looking for you your paths will cross some day you will see .

Well, you are taller and smarter. So be clear that you need them for something! Let them be an expert in music, at least.
You'll get it to work in time. Going to high school you'll be exposed to taller and older guys. The important thing is to have fun at this age, so find some good girl friends to hang with and go skating or the county fair. Boys are super-dooooper insecure at this age, they are easy marks .. so be gentle. Find a boy you like, discover what likes to do and make that subject your holy grail -- let him impress you with how much he knows. He'll be so flattered he'll want to hang with you all the more! Then, if you like each other ... maybe that First Date!

I think War Pig makes a fair point. Guys your age don't like to date girls taller and/or smarter than them. This will change as you get older. For the moment, keep your eye out for tall, smart guys, the smarter the better. They are much more likely to appreciate you.

If your acne is mild they have some makeup that hides all your
problems. Your just a freshman you'll start getting dates. Have you noticed most all of the models are tall. Don't be so hard on yourself your just still in your early teens and you may turn out to be the mot beautiful girl in school.

Ms, guys date girls for all sort of reasons. Do not worry you will find a guy. You are very young and there is no hurry. Just keep on being yourself and the right guy will let you know he likes you. Nothing wrong with being smart. My son graduate 4yrs. college when he was 17. Now he makes 5 times as much as his class mates and has 2 kids. Hang in there you time will come.

Guys in high school are more immature than girls. Just nature- girls mature more quickly. They may perceive you as a nerd, which is o.k.-- remember, Bill Gates is a nerd!
Tall, smart girls may be intimidating to freshman boys, but when you get older, you will find that things CHANGE!!

First of all you have to think of yourself as who you are inside.Forget about acne and how tall you are.When your special one will show up, have him meet a girl that has a lot of self-confidence and knows what she wants. Be strong a build a personality that is what guys are looking for. The real guys, not the ones who maybe cute and attractive, but brainless. The father of your children will be a smart person who will be able to look inside and see the best of you. So start building yourself today.

Well im in the 11th grade,im 15 and i also have not had a girl friend.Just like you i have wanted one 4 a while but im shy so im timid of going up 2 girls.Well if it's not 2 bad your acne no problem,but if it's bad that yeah that's a problem.Don't think you scare them of,tell you the truth guy's do prefer a shorter girl but it does not really scare them of.Brains does not really matter neighther.Well good luck,also depends on your body.

you have 2 things going against/for you. When your young, being tall is not THAT big a deal, but being really smart--- guys might not want to hang with you because they might get made fun of(STUPID KIDS!!). And acne is not a big deal, anyone who says it is is wrong, or jealous. Just hang in there. As you get older guys will start to realize that being with a smart woman is a plus. My wife is smarter that me!!!!
