She might just want you to feel welcome there,

however buddy I'm 27 and i've chased after many girls at work and some of them have shown interest in me and i've followed up on it and others i've just went after myself,

none of the girls has it worked out because they are a distraction to your work and if you break up, oh yeah you'll really want to come and work, I just got being let down by one a couple of months ago, I don't know the older i get the more i think that going after dates at work isn't such a good idea, i think i'm going to look elswhere from now on

Dude,
There are two rules you must know and follow to death.

You should never work with those you date.

You should never date those you work with.

If you jump into a whirl wind romance with a girl at the office you will run into a jumble of problems, especially if you two break it off. Please, sit down with yourself and go over every scenario in your mind about how it can go wrong. Remember why you are at work in the first place. Finally you must ask yourself, "Is she worth loosing my job over?", because that is where this will end up if you do not marry her for life.

Id go with inviting her to go shopping with you to get something or go get ice cream at the mall or a smoothie.Back to school you likely need to pick up an extra binder or something like that.Tell her you want her opinion on a new ball cap.

text her or send her something and tell her
it couldn't hurt.
if you two are friends it won't make a difference.
trust me...
i have been through it...
tell the truth...
she might not answer with the answer you want if you two are truely friends she won't care.
and it will all blow over.

Ask her on a date, be sincere and honest. Don't be afraid to be shot down.
