No. The shampoos that enhance the color are only for natural hair colors. Something that will adhere to your hair, not rince out, will work better, like the glazes everyone is mentioning.

I have naturally black hair that I have been dyeing red for the past several years. (NOTE: Black hair is resistant to color. Color usually doesn't show much at first, but the more you color your hair, the more the color will show. It just takes time.)

I have tried John Frieda "Radiant Red" shampoo and conditioner, as well as the Pantene shampoo and conditioner for red hair, and none of it made my hair color show more or last longer. What *has* enhanced my hair color is the John Frieda "glaze" product that just came out a few months ago.

So, speaking from personal experience, I would say skip the "Brilliant Brunette". Go with a cheaper shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair (I like Garnier Fructis). But do try the John Frieda "glaze" product for dark brown hair.

Brilliant brunette is designed more to give your hair the accents to enhance the look of your brown (shine, reflectors in their gel, etc.). I think they also just came out with a glaze that adds color to your hair... but I would recommend Aveda's clove (they do have a darker one but I don't remember the name) conditioner.

Aveda's also adds a hint of color but the amount and quality of the color deposit is so good you don't have to use it more than a couple of times a week making it worth the price. The color isn't a dramatic change at all- it just gives your hair the apperance of a more even and fresh tone with healthy shine. I have people complement my color all the time and they even ask me if or what dye i use... but it's just this conditioner. It's great!!

ps- don't buy the accompanying shampoo. It's not necessary and does nothing to enhance your hair's color.
