Go to class every day unless you are very sick. It's hard to get caught up on everything. Do all your homework. Do all that's asked for on assignments/reports and then some. Study for tests. Take notes during class. If you don't understand something by all means say something! You may not be the only one in class having a hard time. I know that I had a difficult time because I was too afraid to say something. No one did so I just felt stupid. Then later on I found out that others felt the same. Don't don't spend all your time focused on school and studies. Highschool is the best time of your life. Have some fun too. You'll make life long friends, and discover all kinds of things about yourself. If you have a special interest in something whether it be a sport, a club whatever.... go after it! Now is the time. Don't exclude people because of the "click" they may or not be in. Or if they seem to be too different than you. Sometimes those are the people you make the best connection with and learn the most from.

My daughter has been very successful at school and she has done this all on her own as she is not in a private school. She has very good work ethics and takes notes on all her subjects. She uses plastic pocks to store the notes once she has typed them up. She also uses a colour system to help recognise things better. In literature if studying a book she will use highlighters to highlight quotes by certain characters in one colour, comments on a topic in another colour so the colours jog memories. She makes sure that if she doesnt understand something she will get the teachers to explain it. This is a problem in a public school as a lot of the kids are not interested in doing well so they tend to disrupt the class with noise and then the amount of work that they get through is less. In that instance she asks for further work. At the moment she is also getting help from an old teacher that she had in year 7 who knows that she really wants to achieve and the teacher she has at school is not a really great teacher. She also did classes during the holiday that one of the university runs that are designed to help you with the topic you are studying and know what will happen in the exams, also the things that you are likely to come across in the exams. I think the difference between my daughter and even her brother is that she is determined to do well. Hope some of this helps and good luck!

do all ur homework, go above & beyond on ur projects, study & do well on all ur tests, dont take so many extracurriculars and AP classes that you'll overload yourself but freshmen & sophomore year take a couple honors classes to challenge yourself and in junior & senior year take 2 or 3 ap classes... be involved in what you like to do, dont do something just because you wanna get into college. be nice to ur teachers & they'll give you good recomendations for college. thats about it, and enjoy it its the best years of ur life

Insomnia is frequently the result of a vitamin deficiency, possibly having just a small vitamin deficiency can result in muscle tension in addition to insomnia it would be a smart idea to go and see your doctor and have a test for any vitamin deficiency. Vitamin D is often a cause, Calcium Deficiency may cause numerous things one particular being insomnia. Visit your doctor just to be safe. Hope that helps.
