At least they have a brain to be washed (according to you) unlike some people on here who post stupid questions.

Well, that's an easy question.

If a person questions a lot of things about religion, learns about many different things, and decides they really believe something is the truth (in my case, I follow Jesus), then it isn't brainwashing. It was a choice.
I know there are a lot of people who think all Christians are brainwashed, but it definitely isn't true for those of us who made that choice after many life experiences and searching for answers about life in various religions.
Yes, we think for ourselves, and I believe people in many other religions think for themselves and have decided they want to be a part of a particular religion because it makes sense to them.

Faith to me does not mean I have been brainwashed. It means I chose to believe in God because it made sense. I think most of the world beleives there is a spiritual realm, whatever that means to them... so if someone is wondering about the spiritual realm, they can study different beliefs and make intelligent decisions about what they believe to be true about spirituality.

Of course those who enjoy criticizing Christianity will say we're brainwashed and that we have no reason to believe it. That's the way things have always been.

So what? You think being a Christian is a bad thing?

It's a wonderful way to live, and an excellent guide for treating others. If I were to be brainwashed, and could choose how, that would be my choice.

Of all the things that could be said of me, brainwashed is not one of them.

I made an intellectual decision to follow Jesus Christ. I am not brainwashed. I walked away from Him, and I am happy I found my way back..it is a miracle!

Every one is biased in one way or another. We do not see our own blind spots, hence the word blind. One cannot hold an opinion to be right and simultaneously believe it to be wrong. The only thing we can do is walk the process and try to view ourselves critically.

However, I think your question tends to show your hand as someone with an axe to grind. When your hand is closed around the axe, your mind is closed as well. Let it go and move on; you will be happier for it. Whoever holds your anger holds you.

Brainwashing- 1.a method for systematically changing attitudes or altering beliefs, originated in totalitarian countries, esp. through the use of torture, drugs, or psychological-stress techniques.
2.any method of controlled systematic indoctrination, esp. one based on repetition or confusion.

None of these methods were used to make me believe what I do. I have not been confused, but have searched out the truth for myself. I don't follow Jesus Christ because someone told me to, but because it is evident and clear what He has done. There is no confusion in my decisions.

I am one of them. You should be happy about it. It means there is another person in the world that actually cares about you, and hopes you have a wonderful life instead of trying to find a way to destroy you for my own selfish gain.

What if we're not? How do you know it isn't the unbelievers who have been brainwashed by satan or plain materialism?
