my grandmother drives me crazy .. she thinks she is physic
for example this afternoon she called me i told her that my neighbors were fighting again ( they usually fight about the guy not doing something right or the lady being a ***** :P ) she said and they were fighting because she thought he did something wrong and i said yes ...she said see i am physic

i mean she tells us things that we already know and that are so obvious... how can i tell her YOU ARE NOT A PSYCIC PLEASE STOP YOU ARE DRIVING US CRAZY!! ( us - the rest of the family ) also for someone to believe this way so strongly is it wrong to try to convince them otherwise?

Just rephrase what you said, only more politely. Say "Grandma,I love you, but you don't have psychic powers honey. You just think you do." Then ask her why she couldn't forsee 9-11-01. Place a playing card in an envelope w/o letting Grandma see it. Tell Mathmatically, Grandma she has a 1 in 52 chance of being right, and ask her to use her "powers". If she hits it, then do it again. Chances are she'll flop on the first one, definately the second one. Or better yet, ask her for the winning lottery numbers, and tell her you want all 6 numbers (or however many numbers there are in your state). She'll flop. Ask her again next week. She'll flop. It'll cost you $1 a week for a while, but eventually you might convince her. Even if you don't, maybe she'll at least stop telling you she's psychic.

I think you're a little off base here. I don't think that your grandmother is a medicine, or is involved in the art of science or medicine - nor is she a laxative. From the way you've described her, she sounds like she is a 'psychic' which is someone who can see things that other people can't, or can foretell things. And everyone has that capability, they just don't develop it.
You missed the point, dipstick, you wrote 'physic', so go read the definition in the dictionary. I did, as did a couple of other people here - but you didn't get it. And if you are so great about talking to her for three hours, what in the hell are you complaining about on here.

Be kind to her and just take what she says with a grain of salt. She probably believes what she is saying and nothing can be gained by telling her to stop. She could be going into the early stages of dementia or alzheimers and thats really something that they cant control. Please try more patience and tolerance. It will go a long way in keeping the peace and love in the family.

Physic ha ha she said physic

How do you know that she is not psychic. People get old and we call them senile because their minds begin to operate in different ways. But we are jaded by our own values which tend to revolve around money and relationships. At an age when merely being alive is a gift (or for some a curse) do you not think that it is possible for the mind to make connections which you may not be aware of. I have similar experiences with old people and sometimes it is simply a loss of faculties but I have known some elderly people who have been percieved as "mad," but there is an underlying wisdom at the heart of which is a desire for peace.
See I'm not all bad. X.

Wow, really showing respect for Granny there, aren't we?
Tell me, is the old lady harming anyone...I mean, other than "driving you crazy"??
This is probably her way of trying to feel "special", or "important"...she's old, she'll be gone before you know it...I say, humor the old lady, and let her feel special.
Maybe you could actually take some time out of your busy schedule, and pay the old gal some attention, whatcha think? Yeah, I know...too much trouble. Ahh, well.......
After she's dead, you won't have to worry about it any more, will you?
Why are you gossiping about your neighbors, anyhow? If you've got enough time to stick your nose into their business, you've got time to go and spend time with Grandma.
Shame on you!!

You CAN'T convince her otherwise. Next time she asks if the neighbors are fighting, say no. Then she'll probably say she knew they weren't, so you most likely can't win. But, I'd ask her for the winning lottery numbers or who's going to win the World Series and see what she does with that.

Your grandmother is not going to be around forever. Humor her a little, OK? You'll miss her when she's no longer around and feel pretty small for what you're doing now. You're overreacting to something that doesn't mean much in the scheme of things!

Just leave the ole gal alone and let her have her fun. After all, if she really is psychic she knows she's driving you nuts!

Listen, the old lady might be on to something. Ask her to pick some stocks for you and see how they do. Granny could end up being your best friend.
