Lets go into "hypothetical" situations.

If Hitler never died and never was Phyco...do you think he would apologize for what he did? If he did do you think that the world would forgive him?

He would not apologize and whats more is the islamic world and alot of americans and people living around the world would side with him to annhilate jews. Nice to see you have an israel flag. Im from israel too. I really hate the way the world thinks we are controlling the world trhough 'jewish' media. Calling us zionists. What makes me more angry is that the book 'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion' is actually a textbook in classes in many islamic countries especially iran where children aged as young as 5 are taught to hate jews.

Well, this is stretching the hypotheticals a bit, since if he had not been crazy, it's unlikely he would have done what he did. He would have been accepted at the Vienna School of Art and become a mediocre landscape painter and would not have had to apologise for anything other than bad taste.

As for the rest of your hypotheticals, if he had not died, he would not have apologised for the Holocaust! He believed in the Final Solution. You need only read his diary, 'Mein Kampf' and look at the behaviour of the other Nazi leaders at the Nuremberg trials when they were shown a film several hours long of the camps, to understand their mentality. This applies to Goering especially. They showed no real remorse and were convinced of the justice of their actions.

The Yale law school has placed the minutes from the Nuremberg trials online. Read them and see the mentality for yourself. (link)

As for the rest of the world forgiving Hitler, in certain circles, he is already forgiven, with his deeds dangerously relativised -- or he is forgiven even when the Holocaust is taken at face value for what it was! Personally, I find this horrendous and disgusting, but never, ever underestimate the ability of people to rewrite history as they see fit in order to justify their current circumstances.

The rewriting and reinterpretation of twentieth century history, and especially of the Second World War, is going on in discreet and not so discreet ways all over the world right now, from Japan, to Germany, to the Middle East, to the UK, to the USA. You need only look at the textbook controversy in Japan, the movie 'Downfall' in Germany (which on deeper levels of interpretation walks a very fine line -- and I don't mean that in the overt senses that critics spoke of when it came out), the Holocaust cartoons in the Middle East, Niall Ferguson's new book on the twentieth century, and movies like 'Saving Private Ryan' in the USA, in which the Americans seek to augment their role in WWII (when in fact they entered the war very late) as heirs to the current conflict.

Some people really have no remorse because they have no sense of fear. Oh yeah, there are people that fear nothing. But no, he would not apologise. That is like asking if Bush will ever ask forgiveness for his actions. He may ask, but he will def not mean it. But he is not nearly as evil as Hitler was.

But if he was to ask for forgiveness, who would accept his apology? I know I wouldn't. Niether would the legal system of the states and give him the death penalty if he were to get prosecuted here. I am sure other nations would a little more lenient and not even hesitate to execute him in a matter of minutes in custody. They would probably torture him before that and not even ask for an apology. Because it would not be accepted.

Forgivness is a good thing but I think only God would have the ability to forgive Hitler. If any of my family ever had to live and die under the hands of Hitler I honestly dont think I could forgive him. I do not believe the world would be able to forgive him.

I don't think that people who do things think of themselves as doing evil things. They think "I had to hurt him, he was stealing my wife, he made a fool out of me, he..." They usually do not take responsibility for their actions, but puts the blame off on the outside universe (the people he hurts). You can't feel badly about things you did if you believe you were "justified" doing them.

Do I think the world would forgive him? No. People would remember and talk about it for as long as there is a memory.

From "The Downfall" about Hitler's last days, it appears unlikely that we regretted Holocaust.

Even with a very sincere apology, he would have been executed after Nurnberg.

hypothetically - who really knows. Arguments could be given on both sides, depending on what events happened later in his life.

As for the world forgiving him - forgive maybe but trust - nope.

But, if he never was Psycho - he would never have acted the way he did, right?

No even if he wasent phyco he would see no reason to apologize, and no one would accept it after what he did.

I doubt if Hitler ever apologised for anything in his life. The man was utterly convinced that he was right, and if he were not mad, he'd be convinced he was right about sane things.

If you see what I mean.
