No government has ever been popular. No one wants to be governed.I think in the begining of the US government certain figures had iconic status. They weren't afraid to make a stand and say what they believed, and in doing so make changes.A lot like some actors and sport figures today. They go out and live the way they feel entitled to.And people look up to them for it.At one time I can see why govenment officials would have pop culture icon status.

It's true. The world should follow this quote instead of trying to have a popular government

It is the job of the government to try to do what is right. They do not always do the right thing, but I believe most government officials try to do the right thing (Democrat, Republican, Independents, etc...)
This brings me to the quote, "What is popular isn't always right; what's right isn't always popular."
Many pop culture icons believe they know more. I see them every day trying to sway my vote. I do my own studying when it comes to the candidates.

It's true. Gov. officials are hated or looked upon with suspicion because of their possible power and previous track records. When one politician messes up, they all suffer to an extent because public opinion is fluid and constantly shifting.
