I wouldn't wash him more than fortnightly, otherwise you upset his natural skin oils. Unless he is really stinky, itchy or dirty, once a month should be fine.

whenever he starts to smell dirty. I don't think he should be washed more than once a month though. The short haired breeds have natural oils that help protect their skin and keep their fur clean, so they really don't need to be washed very often. I have a labX and she's mostly an inside dog, she gets washed when she starts to smell doggy (which is usually about once a month or every other month) My Shih-tzus on the other hand have hair instead of fur and they get bathed about every 7 - 10 days.

not more than ever15-20 days, even over a month, eccept it gets too dirty and filthy. This is because you gan cause skin problems on your dog if you bathe it too often. The natural oils that come from the cebaceous glands that are related to the hair folicules protect the skin from the enviroment and from de bacterial and parasitic flora that lives on the surface. If you wash off these oils to often, you leave the skin surface unprotected and can cause secondary dermatitis(inflammation of the skin), bacterial, fungal, or parasitic.

My 5 month old dobie girl tends to roll around in the dirt and wet grass a lot so she gets baths about every 2 weeks. Every month is good though, they say that it should be less than that but if you use a mild moisturizing shampoo then it doesn't dry out their skin. My Cinder loves her bath time.

I wash mine if she is visibly dirty, or about once a month, and i use a spray on leave-in doggy skin and coat conditioner to help prevent any itching or flakes due to dryness.

It would probably be a good idea to bathe it at least 1 time every month, unless it goes outside a lot then you might want to give it one every 2-3 weeks! :)
