Faith in Jesus Christ gives one the assurance that He is there 24/7 to help us be victorious in this life. We are to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. God can change our life in a moment of professed faith in Him. Even if we can't change ourselves.

I tried to quit tobacco & couldn't. But when I made a song out of God's promises, "I am not under law of sin & death, I am under Grace. In everthing I do in word or deed, I will do it in the name of the LORD.". With that sung song, I was delivered of tobacco addiction. Never had it since. About 15 years ago.

To think it is dumb to believe as a child born of God, born into His Kingdom, that you won't be happy in heaven is dumb.

Faith is never dumb. Believing in God's gift of everlasting life is Faith, not dumb. What is dumb is not believing in God's promises.

Wow what a loaded question some would wonder what you are thinking of doing! As anyone would believe that has lost A loved one we would believe that eternity is nothing but happiness and fields of flowers. I am a true believer in God and the kingdom of heaven though I am a terrible church goer there is the difference between spirituality and church. I do believe that when we go to heaven we will be with all our loved ones and will be extremely happy and that God does forgive all sins whether we confess or not! I would however hesitate to say ever take my own life just in case that was the one sin he didn't want to forgive. So to ans were your question why do kids believe so whole heartily and adults question? One question for another-sorry no help but a very good philosophical question.

No, it's not "dumb". It's part of a belief system that many embrace.

But as someone who accepts the concept of reincarnation, I also believe that there are no spiritual shortcuts. I believe that each brief life we occupy is an invaluable opportunity to LEARN. So...I'm learning. Or trying to. And perhaps one day I'll be surprised by an invitation to my own graduation.

But, as in high school - you flunk a grade, you repeat. If I'm too thick-headed to learn the lessons THIS life offers, I'm just going to have to trudge through it all again. Take a make up exam.

So...I keep going. Trying to keep my mind open, trying to understand all I can, trying to be patient with a Universe that has very little patience with me.

Why is it dumb? When Christians speak of death, it is not the end of life (simply the end of life on earth and in an earthly body) but a transition spot before eternity, an eternity with the Lord.

If one were to die and cease to exist or die and then go to hell or die and be reincarnated as a slug then it might be considered dumb to think one would be happy once one dies.

I dont think it is dumb at all! i believe in the other side, heaven, or whatever you wont to cal it, and i believe that life is a learning experince, but when you go on, you leave this world and all the that goes with it. of course you will be happy.

As for happiness in dying - yes, that is dumb - Ecclesiastes 9:5,10 shows that the dead have no knowledge. And look at the grief of those left behind.

As for happiness in being resurrected (to stand up again) back to life - no - not dumb - glorious - for everyone involved.

No it's not dumb to think of happiness after death. It all depends in what you believe. There's always hope... don't give up and anything can be given to change as far as making decisions are concerned.

You can do, "all things" through Christ whom strengthens you."
"All things are possible to them that believe!"

Peace,

Hope

well if you commit suicide, I can assure you that you wont be enjoying your afterlife unless you like extremely hot temperatures...and YES you can change everything if you try and have faith or hope, you're only fooling yourself into believing there's no hope.

Yes. That is the entire basis of religion. But please...
I do not want to be responsible for your suicide...
