cuase people get so set in their ways, they refuse to believe that other religions are a posibility, and they tend to think that theirs is the only true right religion.

It's probably guilt,to think you are of the devil is very dumb. you have asked a question because you didn't know, if you didn't ask this question then you wouldn't be bothered over it.
To answer it as to what "I" believe, I know that you can't make any thing out of nothing if you don't have some one there to make it,, like a cake, if you don't have the stuff make it how do you know if it is a cake, like you or me.. if you are really into finding out, I would go to several churches and make your choice from that, I would consider if some one tried to force their ideals down your throat a jerk and not worth much, it takes a lot of heart felt need to find out the answer as to why or who I should look to. I'm L.D.S. and it took me allot of work asking the right questions to make my choice. the facts that I look to was - is God, Jesus and the Holly Spirit all the same, or are the different people, do they believe that I have the right to choice. for me it was simple, You may find a whole different type of questions to ask,, so ask them, if they can't give you a strait answer then move on to the next,, the best thing I can tell you is to pray, doing that may help you to under stand.. but what ever you do remain open minded and David Corish was a want-a-be god.

Well, in the Bible the Bereans were commended by Paul for studying and researching the Scriptures to determine if they were correct and true. They did not take it in blind faith, but made sure it matched up. I think questioning religion is very important, as long as your mind is open enough to accept truth.
Acts 17:11
Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

I wonder that too. I am Christian, but I have done a lot of questioning myself. I think if we don't question things, it's hard to know why we believe what we believe.
Maybe some people aren't confident enough in their own faith to appreciate things being questioned. That could be why it bothers them. For me, questioning things, and hearing what others are questioning really helps me to learn more, not only about myself and my faith, but also about what others believe.

Because so many people attack different religions on here and you become sensitive to it. Religion is a personal thing to a lot of people, and for someone to question it, we get defensive. When attacked you protect yourself.

I think some people perceive questions as a lack of faith in their religion ,my self ,I believe that questioning one's beliefs actually makes what you do believe more real to you cause you have thought it over from all sides.there is no harm from discussing other peple's beliefs, and who knows you might even learn from them.

I think it bothers people when others question religion because they aren't really so secure with their own religion. Either that or they're so narrow minded about their religion that they can't actually realize that others have more open minds about it.'

You remember how disappointed you were when you found out there was no Santa Claus. Well they are all afraid of that same feeling when they find out there is no diety. So they don't want to have their religion questioned. It is not based on reality.

It bothers me because (1) non-religious seem to have an obsession, which I do not understand, about others having a religious belief and (2) I believe in live and let live. I won't question your non-belief and you don't question my belief.

Most times because when one does, they have the mirror shown on them. People do not like it when people do what they themselves want to do, but are afraid of doing. So they will find ways to contradict you, to fight you, and to question you.
Always question things, even question God. Yes, I say this as a Christian. I say this because God wants us to learn, to grow in Him and with Him. He does not want us to remain ignorant and just floating through life not ever finding any answers. He wants us to always seek, and seek Him. One thing I would say though, never question God if your intent is on mocking Him. But if you question Him to seek and learn, I do not find that God would mind that a bit.

Well...
Humans, by their nature, are evil.
They desire 4 things above all others:
1. Sex
2. Money
3. Death
4. Power
As they believe, to question religion is to cause them to lose power over you. And money, as you will no longer feel obligated to give to offering. But that is my opinion.
