The name of the lad from Manchester that "Beat" the other fellow in New York or New Jersey a few months back was Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton, and it was in Madison Square Garden, New York. The only spectacular thing about that fight is how Luis Collazo (a guy Ricky was suppose to knockout) got screwed out of a unanimous decision. Ricky clearly lost the fight and admitted the "He was hurt several times in the bout."
Ricky's going to find out things aren't so easy over here across the pond. He's moved up in weight and he doesn't have the privilege of going to the pub with the referee after the fight..................... The Tszyu fight was hardly "Spectacular" Ricky fought a old man. He used his head blatantly and was never one time cautioned by the referee for it. Tszyu's corner complained to the ref but he said "There'll be none of that, you don't tell me how to do me job" As far as the crowd goes, they were a bunch of tanked up Englishman who just got done spending half of their paychecks at the Pub (Remember what time the fight took place so it could be seen here in America on Showtime). Ricky could have been scheduled to fight one of the Umpa Lumpas from Willy Wonkas and the crowd still would have been "red hot".

You may be confusing fights...Hatton's last fight against Luis Collazo, as one of the prior posters noted, was less than spectacular. I agree that Hatton probably lost that fight and in any case he sure didn't look impressive. What *was* impressive was Hatton's domination of Kostya Tszyu last June in Manchester. The atmosphere alone was incredible--a red hot hometown crowd that went nuts for everything Hatton did. He completely schooled a very talented fighter in Tszyu. All in all, it was a pretty amazing event and worth watching if you haven't already.
