Certain people, although they are lactose intolerant are still able to stomach a certain amout of dairy products. You still should get checked to be on the safe side.

If you aren't lactose intolerant, they you could have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects approximately 10-15% or more of the general population. It is the most common disease diagnosed by gastroenterologists (doctors who specialize in medical treatment of disorders of the stomach and intestines) and one of the most common disorders seen by primary care physicians.

COMMON SYMPTOMS OF IBS

1. Bloating and gas
2. Mucus in the stool
3. Constipation
4. Diarrhea, especially after eating or first thing in the morning
5. Feeling like you still need to have a bowel movement after you've already had one
6. Feeling a strong urge to have a bowel movement
7. Abdominal pain and cramping that may go away after having a bowel movement

The symptoms may get worse when you're under stress, such as when you travel, attend social events or change your daily routine. Your symptoms may also get worse if you don't eat enough healthy foods or after you've eaten a big meal. Some people are bothered by certain foods. Women who have IBS may notice more frequent symptoms during their menstrual periods.

Cheerios are made of oats, which are high in fiber, so it sounds as though they're actually as they're supposed to. If you like cheerios then eat a smaller bowl, a smaller quantity. Everybody has a certain amount of gas. If you have a lot of gas, there could be something wrong with your digestive system, but it's more likely that you're simply eating too much. Lots of decomposing food in your digestion system will cause lots of methane.

Sounds like you could benefit from some acidophilus in your diet, either through capsules (nature's way, etc) or with yogurt. You might have a problem digesting milk which often causes gas.

You also might have trouble digesting whats in the Cheerios.

Or, you might get nervous and uptight before school and that might be causing tummy problems.

My daughter has social anxiety and tends to get stomach aches and cramps from that. The school's food also gives her gas so she doesn't eat it much. Of course, she is more of a burper than a gas passer...which doesn't seem to bother her. She has no problem belting out a big ole belch in the middle of anything. Crazy teenager.

Goddess Bless!

Maybe you ARE lactose intolerant? Have you checked? You may have developed an intolerance to milk, or possible an allergy to gluten or wheat that is causing your upset stomach. It could also be some sort of gastrointestinal issue that is causing you to have gas - and it could be stress induced. See a doctor if you are truly concerned, but everyone gets gas occasionally.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR ANSWERS, GO SEE A DOCTOR. You can be lactose intolerant and still be able to eat some dairy products. you should get checked for allergies, because if it isn't the lactose, it could be related to other ingredients you are eating. You can develop allergies at any stage in your life.

Us Beano to get rid of the gas. I eat Cheerios religiously for breakfast evry morning, and don't get gas (from the cheerios). My gas comes from all the other crap I eat. I just let the farts fly away though. Sometimes I warn folks before they walk into my cubicle, and sometimes I just let them whiff it.

Thats something that happens when you are lactose intolorent. My grandma is and she still eats dairy and gets the same thing. Try to lay off of it for a while, and go to a doctor regardless of what happens. Good Luck.

It probably is the Cheerios. They contain huge amounts of corn starch which is basically food poisoning in a box. Horrible stuff.

Try eating yogurt with live enzimes. It straightens out what's going on with your belly. Takes about 2 weeks for the bloating and gas to go away. I eat at least one container a day, worked for me. Good Luck!!!
