More like 95% (including weather, which drivers are responsible to compensate for). The only other cause is unexpected mechanical failure, which rarely happens.

Of course. Just observe how distracted most drivers are. Cell phones, putting on makeup, eating, dealing with screaming children in the back. Yep, I would say that 50% of accidents, probably even more is due to driver error..

Yes, and the other 50% are caused by the other drivers

Cars dont drive themselves-people do.When an accident occurs ,a driver makes a mistake that causes it.Weather accounts for only a small percentage of accidents. So I would say 99%.

I like to blame everything on the government, but in this case, I would say that it is probably a much higher % than 50. Unless you have some robot driving your car.

I'd have thought it was much higher than that.
If everyone stuck to the rules (highway code in the Uk) then there would be very few accidents.

I would suggest the number is even higher than that, followed by the elements ie: weather.
