Genesis says that God created Adam first. Doesn't it make more sense to create the woman first. It is the woman who will grow, carry and deliver the others to populate the earth. In reproduction, who plays the most important role? You cannot plant a seed without a field to plant it in. I have read Genesis, please don't quote me scripture as an answer.

Typical male-dominant arrogance of the time. Can't have a woman come first. Things haven't changed much.

If you read the Bible besides reading Genesis, you would not ask such a stupid question.
God knows what he's doing...he did it his way chicky.
Oh by the way, there was work to be done in the garden and naming the animals and all...maybe about 25 or 30 yrs. went by and as one said here in this question section when naming all the animals he notice a male and female...so he got lonely God knew this so he created a helper for Adam...but God knew ahead of time that the earth would have to be populated with others so his plan went into action, his way Chicky.

God created a person in his image, so that means God is a man. If God were a woman he would have created a woman first. He created the woman as a companion to man, not to bear children. That "burden"was not put on women until after Adam and Eve sinned and had to leave the Garden of Eden.

No, it would not make more sense to create woman first. What would she mate with? The animals? True the woman does have to grow, carry and deliver the babies, but without man here first, there would have been nothing for her to do, Anyway, she was made from Adam's rib. Man was put here first, to have dominion over the animals, to name them, and actually live alone in paridise. But it was after naming all the animals and noticing each animal had a mate but he didn't, he became lonely. God saw that he was lonely, and made woman.

It would make sense if that was the original intension yes.

As it was taught to me god created man in his own image and only after seeing how lonely man was here on earth without another of his own kind then God decided to create woman.

In reproduction niether has a more important role. Both components must be present for a fetus to be formed. It has been proven that as long as you have sperm and egg neither male or female bodies need to be present to create life.

You said not to quote a scripture as an answer, so....

Don't you think that God had it planned out? That he intended to create them male and female?

If he did not intend to create a woman to bear the children, why did he give Adam the parts that would allow him to impregnate her?

One reason that he probably waited to create the woman was for Adam to really appreciate his need for his complement as Genesis refers to Eve. Adam saw that all of the animals had mates, but he had none, and wanted one. Good timing I say.

What a pity that they both had to ruin it all.

If you could design and create and automobile in a day would it matter if you made the engine, chassis or even the headlamps first? As long as all the pieces of the puzzle are together, at the same time it is complete.

The original Adam and Eve were actually micro organisms, because this is technically where reproduction through sexual contact began. That would have been millions of years before homo sapiens came along.

Do you really expect such a naive book as the Bible to make sense? Genesis has scientific inaccuracies galore. I could write a book about flaws in the Bible.
