if these wonderful smelling oils are so safe to smell,
why then do all of them have warnings about pregnancy and caution labels about using them
very specifically?

i am worried because i am passinate about using these wonderful smells and i just want to get lost in the highs that i get from inhaling them.

They should not be used during pregnancy because some cause:
1. skin irritations
2. miscarriage (so do not inhale then!)
3. are absorbed through the skin
4. some cross the placental barrier and can hurt the baby

Certain ones are permitted in the second trimester if used minimally...check with your ob which ones he will approve. I would just avoid them all together. It is only 9 months and is safer than running the risk of a miscarriage.

Some that have been shown to cause miscarriages are:
mugwort (
parsley seed
pennyroyal
rue
sage
sassafras
savin
thuja
tansy
wormwood
