I was just curious how come most african americans have very short hair ?

I dont know why....but I am an African American an I have long hair, I dont get perms in hair, I get a press in my hair (hot comb).... But mostly its b/c people dont take care of there hair like they are suppose 2.

well either b/c they don't take care of it the right way, or b/c they like it that way. Another reason is that it's easier to take care of. My hair on the other hand is long (mid-back).

because people may choose to wear their hair this way. But saying that all african american people wear their hair one way or another is stereotyping, and that is ignorant and racist. Hair color and texture is genetic. Hair styles are personal and different for everyone.

none of the females in my family ever had very short hair...well my sister cut hers so ya-- and our hair grows slower...b/c the more curly ur hair is..the longer it takes to grow...my hair was past my shoulders and then i cut it to shoulder length...ppl assume it's weave...so are you sure about ur question...maybe ur also assuming

Most African-American hair is different from other races and has a more kinky feel to it. It often is hard to grow and falls out easier than other races. This is specifically why they where weave, so their hair can look long and beautiful too.
Other races tend to wear weave/extensions if they have short hair and want a longer look for an occasion (especiall celebrities like paris hilton).

because they have very delicate hair and it won't grow very much rarely ever does it grom long and don't get me wrong cuz some grows long and i know cuz my moms a hair dresser and im half black!

It's just the common style. Not all have short hair. Afros can be very long depending on how big they are. Dreadlocks are also long. Since their hair is coarser, it doesn't flow like caucasian people's hair does when long.
