Because of the lack of any gods.
I used to be a Christian until I really started examining my beliefs and the beliefs of others. I've also looked into why people believe in things, in general. I found that religion is based on emotional arguments. Religion doesn't really have anything factual to back it up, so it uses emotional arguments to try to convert people.
This is highly effective, because humans have been emotional creatures far longer than rational ones. It's even more effective when children are indoctrinated with those beliefs.
Basically, I'm just unconvinced that there are actually any gods, but I see much evidence for why people would believe in them anyway.

I'm an Epicurean Stoic myself, but I once witnessed a woman asking an atheist, "Why don't you believe in God?". To which he replied, "Why do you believe in God?".
It strikes me as a circular argument that could only be answered if God suddenly dropped down to Earth and said, "Here I am!". If that ever happens, the major religions of the world will be out of business.

Maybe because they didn't read in the right religion yet. So they can know the true God. Read about Islam

because you don't believe in any specific its like religion is there but not to you.
so you just basically don't have a religion.
