How do you format discs? I bought a bunch of discs- I noticed they did not have the silver sleeve on them. A coworker of mine said that she thought they had to be FORMATTED. How is that done? I know NOTHING about computers! PLEASE HELP ME!!:-[

are they floppy disks or cd's. if floopy you can do it by going to my computer, (put the disk in) right click on the disk drive and select format. it is that simple.

If your talking about CD-R's they don't need formating. CD-RW shouldn't either but windows can format them or another burning program. In windows click on My computer then rigt click on the drive the disc is in and click format. You shouldn't need to unless you are using a program that burns in a particular format and the program will let you know and probably give you an option to format. Try one disc first so you don't accidently destroy a bunch of them.

Put a disc in the slot. Go to My Computer, click on the "a" drive. Now right click and choose "format" toward the middle of the menu. Choose the "quick format" option, or it will take a long time.

yeah you need to provide more info. What kind of disk? I assume your talking about a PC...
