well, one good thing....they've got it all at once! being a virus, the colds they have need to run it's course. the best thing mommy can do is make them as comfortable as possible. i know this is gonna sound corny, but chicken soup is the absolute best thing to offer them when down with a cold. home made, with celery, carrots, onions, peas, and a little garlic (omit what they don't like) is even better. baby should have clear liquids, as much as possible, and possibly pedialyte if he/she is not eating well. and to make the best of a bad situation here, make this a time to really nurture your children, they don't feel well and need to know mom is there for them. keep them in their comfy jammies, snuggle on the couch or bed, watch some movies together, make some popcorn, let them have popcicles as often as the like (juice pops even better) and encourage them to drink water....try putting ice in it as well, ice water feels good on a scratchy throat. forget the laundry and dishes, they'll be there when the kids feel better. if they are running a fever, use a fever reducer, but sparingly, as a fever is our body's way of fighting off the virus. (of course, if it goes over 102 deg. the doctor should be consulted) they can't give each other this cold to each other again, that's the saving grace of a virus, you cannot get it again, your body builds anti-bodies against it. but there are plenty of other viruses out there, and you can be sure they'll catch another one! infants, toddlers and pre-schoollers are little virus magnets...also, encourage them to wash their hands often! best of luck, and even though your kids are sick, enjoy the time you get to spend with them.

Try using saline nose spray on them (sep. bottle for each) - it helps clear up runny noses and stuffy heads and keeps the nasal passages moisturized. The best thing about it is that it contains no medicine. I also use Vicks VapoRub. Make sure that you get plenty of rest and eat regularly to keep your strength up. Tell your husband that you need a trip to the spa after everyone is better.

Clean everything with Lysol disenfectant cleaner....spray all the mattresses and pillows with lysol, wash the bedding daily, and burn eucalyptus oil in my oil burner....eucalyptus has healing properties. Get some over the counter children's tylenol or walmart equivalent cold meds also, keep them hydrated with plenty of water or kool aid....they are too young for gatorade, but pedyalite is good, and they have popcicles....the seven month old would like it too. NO MILK....milk causes congestion, and I would dilute any juices, because it can cause the runs. A cold can take up to 2 weeks to fully run it's course, so get a lot of chicken soup, or chicken and rice....pedyalite, and keep water bottles handy....GOOD LUCK!!! I would rather have mine sick at the same time then seperatly

Wow! you've gotten some complicated answers. I have 4 boys and they all get sick at the same time- if one gets it it goes down the line. Simple basic stuff- Tylenol, cold medicine for syptoms, tissues, fluids, Lysol, warm baths help achy bodies, plenty of rest and Blockbuster... not necessarily in that order. lol It's long days and restless nights- tough it out- they will be fine in a few days. Good luck.

First of all determine if it is actually the cold or just allergies, then take the toys they play with and wash them in a disenfectant (Like dawn with Bleach) in the sink and dry them good to clean the germs from them than watch they are not drinking after each other and sharing things from hand to mouth, also try Lysol antibacterial wipes, they work wonders for keeping things wiped down.

I grew up in a family of 11 children. We all got the mumps, chicken pox, measels, etc. at the same time (before vaccines). You can't keep siblings away from each other. Encourage them to keep their noses as clean as possible if they can blow/wipe their own noses, throw the tissues away, wash their hands and get plenty of fluids and chicken soup, tylenol if needed. It will pass, and they will get colds again, its part of life.

Keep things really sanitary to prevent from oner passing it back to the other. for example wash your hands after each nose blowing and don't leave used tissues hanging around. Wash the dishes frequently so that they don't use each other dishes.

First of all, keep them away from each other. One might be starting to feel better but if he gets around someone else who still is sick it's just going to make him sick again. It'll keep bouncing off all 3 of them if they are around each other the whole time and at that rate it'll take much longer for them to get better.
Lots of fluids, appropriate medicine, and lots of sleep. Your body fights sickness better while you're sleeping so make them sleep as much as they can.

Call the pediatrician and ask what he/she wants them to take or if they need to come in. Disinfect the house so they won't keep reinfecting one another. Then, just try to comfort each of them as best as you can.
