The bad thing about putting decorations up this early is the fact that they get torn down by either rain or winds. Also the neighbor hood kids have a tendency to steal things if you decorate outside.
The cotton spiderweb doesn't fair well outside for an extended period of time. I know that we all love Halloween, but I think the second week in October is the perfect time to start the festivities.

It's never too early, especially if you love Halloween. It's my favorite holiday, so I will spend the next week cleaning up the house really well and then starting to pull everything out. It's always nice to look at everything you have so you don't go out and buy duplicates of stuff. I work at a grocery store and we set out all of our candy and decorations yesterday(I already found a few things I want to buy). So start buying more to add to your collection and decorate any time you feel like it. It is your house after all.

The stores start putting up the displays after Labour Day, so I would think you are right on time. Of course I'm always a little late, and never get it done until the weekend before Halloween. I always wish I would have started earlier.

I feel like the 1st of October (or last weekend in September) is the best time. Not too early but early enough to have everything out as long as you can.
