what would you think of that friend? If you think they went off their rocker, then why wouldn't you believe the same way about what is written in the bible? Worse yet is the childhood factor of the "phone game" in which we learn how a story that is told over and over again is distorted.

NO - it is all true, every word of it. The world WAS created in 7 days, Noah did build an ark after the WHOLE world was covered in water (and he repopulated the earth), Moses did part the red sea, Jesus did walk on water and cure the sick. And any evidence to the contrary (dinosaur bones, televangists who "heal" people too, science, common sense, and the fact there has not been one recorded "miracle" since the beginning of science) are all just obstacles put there by the devil to make us disbelieve.... BS!

Religion is the biggest source of all hatred and evil in the world. All one has to do is look at countries that are governed by religion (Iran, Syria, Afghanistan (was), Lebanon) too see examples of the damage religion can have. Guess what Christians, read the Old Testament - the Bible is filled with just as much intolerance, hatred and sanctioned murder. So any Christians who want to look down their nose at Muslim Fundamentalists - realize that your religion descended from fundamentalists just like them.

Here are some funny questions: Which couples divorce less, atheists or religious? Which countries have less murder rates, less religious or predominately Christian? You would think the religious would come out on top right??? Read for yourself:

Very good thought process here. I agree with you. I would think my friend had lost it and attempt to help them get psychological treatment. Also, I've thought for a long time that most holy books are pretty much identical to any other myths. They just persisted longer. I am spiritual and religious, but as Wiccan, I believe more in what the world around me tells me, not what someone else says.

kinda like how a story changed during an internet posting?

sounds a little odd... but actually...Moses was 80 years old at the burning bush

but since Moses work was validated by miricles like the plagues to Egypt and the parting of the Sea and the Manna... I am quite confident that it is more than a tele-phony

To believe or not is a choice. Choose and be at peace with that choice. The main problem lies in that people tend to associate God with all those who say that they represent the way.My rule of thumb is this-is it positive?? Read the Bible. Meditate about it. Take the positive and learn from the negative. Create a paradise on earth that can only glorify the Original. Peace.

“The 66 books of the Bible were written on three continents. In three languages. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, fishermen, priests, and a physician). Over a period of about 1500 years. On the most controversial subjects. By people who in most cases had never met. By authors whose education and background varied greatly. Yet all 66 books maintain harmony with each other…as if written by one great mind. And indeed it was.” 2 Peter 1 verse 21 “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy spirit” Critics of the Bible have tried to say that certain “historical statements” in the Bible are not accurate but archaeologists have uncovered many discoveries that have proven the history of the Bible as accurate. The principles and the prophecies of the old testament as well as its history holds for us today as much relevance as it did for the Israelites in Jesus day and it blends perfectly with the new testament. If it doesn't jive with what today's Bible says then I wouldn't believe it. but back then God did directly talk to humans sometimes. The bible says "My sheep know my voice" John 10:27

Early Old Testament figures were "legendary" in ancient Jewish religion; this accounts for the exaggerated tales of their long lives - as with Noah, Adam etc. - the stories of their hundreds of years of life reflect their legendary status. There is often some truth behind legend, however.

I would be inclined to believe that they were very gullible. Fortunately I am not so much and would greet such a story with severe skepticism.
