Fun! Try thinking of what kind of "look" you want in your room: fun, with lots of colors? chinese? arabian nights? bling-bling? finding Nemo? ;) Choose a theme, and go with it. Then look at what you already have. There's all sorts of ways to make old stuff look totally different, especially if you're crafty and willing to put some time into it. Number one room-changer: paint. Paint something. Paint's super-cheap, and it makes a huge difference. Paint your walls, and you'll have a whole new room right there. If you can't afford to paint your walls, paint something else: your bed, bookshelves, whatever. Paint's good because you can do it yourself, even if you haven't done it before. Second big tip: use your talents--or your friends' talents. :) Can you paint? Draw? Build stuff? Do collages? Sew? Do you know someone who can? Don't under-estimate the impact of a lot of small changes. Think about throwing a redecorating party, and have all of your friends over. They'll have fun giving you their ideas, plus pretty much every girl I know loves decorating bedrooms. Even better, get a small group of friends together and take turns redecorating everyone's room, kind of like the t.v. show Trading Spaces. :) Then have slumber parties to celebrate and show off your rooms. :)
Another thing is to ask your friends and family if they have stuff they don't want anymore. I'm a college student with a new apartment, and I'm trying to decorate it. But I don't have any $$$ either. So I've let everyone know, and people have given me stuff that they don't need. I just got a bunch of cute little shelves from my grandmother, who was redecorating her guest room and didn't need them. People usually have tons of stuff like that they'd love to get rid of, but don't know what to do with them. If you know some really big pack-rats, you might even get some big stuff like a bed or something. My mom had like six ceiling fans sitting in her attic. (?) Someone might be willing to trade furniture/stuff with you. I've done that, too. My aunt didn't want this old bed because she has three little kids and couldn't use it, and I didn't want my old white girl's bed that I'd gotten when I was ten either. So we traded, and I love my new bed.
You can also look at decorating magazines for ideas, then figure out ways to make them work in your room for less money. Just get creative. Brainstorm on paper, and write down any crazy idea that comes to mind. You'll be surprised what works! Have fun. :)

Well If you have poster and stuff on your walls you can make a collage with all of them on just one wall. then rearragne the room aroun that. If you have a tv and stuff then put that on that wall and go from there....You can use card board boxes for tables...It hard cause I dont know what you have to work with...But I will say to watch for what out for garbage. you can go to carpet stores for their cleaence stuff or what they throw out too...I've done my basement like that...LOL ones persons garbage is anothers treasure. Just mae sure you clean it really good.....
