Our doctor is sending us to a specialist. I know someone else whose child didnt do solids until 2 years old. Anyone experienced this b4 or know of anyone? Any suggestions?? I need help.

that's normal,when spoon feeding just keep shovelling it back in till its gone,food first bottle after,the child will soon learn that as soon as foods gone bottle will turn up.

Maybe he has a swallowing problem, or it could be a behavioural problem. The tongue may not be functioning normally, etc... A specialist will definitely sort this out for you. If the problem is physical, then there are many simple surgeries to correct it.

Is he spitting up after swallowing or just spitting them out of his mouth after tasting? Could be he just needs more time learning how to swallow, or he doesn't like the taste. How many different foods have you tried, and have you watered them down so they aren't so thick? My niece has this thing that looks like a pacifier, but instead of a nipple, it has a soft netted pouch to put mushy food in--it has helped her learn to eat fruit. We got it at Babies 'R' Us.

a specialist may help you with what sounds like reflux. some grow out of it,some have it all their lives but can live normally with meds. google reflux.
