i am freezing my .....off every damned day at work and i work in a federal government office
isn't there a law as too how cold an office can be

Yeah there are laws. Environmental safety I think it comes under.

I'm not sure if it applies to offices, though it probably will.
Safety is safety. I remember reading a thing about temperature but it was mostly concerned with extreme heat as you can imagine as that is very dangerous. Maybe you are over-sensitive to it? Are you on your own, does anyone else complain?

It varies in different countries and states so you'll need to state where you are or look it up yourself. But i'm guessing you're just going to have to put up with it unfortunately.
Ask the people in charge if you haven't already.

Would love to know the answer to this one ! We've had the opposite problem for over a week now, one of the condensor's in the A/C unit died and now half of the building has NO A/C while the other side gets cranked in hopes of cooling the other side off. Can you say "Un-healthy" ??
