lost too much blood and my iron was extremely low and the Dr said there was a rsik of hemmoaging so they wouldnt do the surgery. They are supposed to reschedule it when I go for my 6 weeks check up but now my husband has agreed to have a vasectomy is it going to be easier for me or him to heal? Anyone with experience who has had a vasectomy or your husband has had one?

What an awesome husband you have! I have one of those nice guys also. When he found out that it was dangerous for me to get pregnant, yet also dangerous to have the surgery, he stepped up to the plate. Of course, I was so sorry he had to go through with it, but he had it done on a Friday so he could heal on the weekend. Of course, it's way easier for the man to heal than the woman, because they just have little incisions. Be prepared for the bruising, though - we weren't told of that. Just give him lotsa love, eh?

Your hubby will have a much quicker recovery time than you would! My husband has his done on a Friday afternoon, and we was back to work on Monday. Just make sure he listens to the doctor's instructions and have him take it easy!!! My hubby just laid around for two days, used a jock strap and ice. He had no complications at all!

His brother had a vasectomy also and had a much different result. He felt better the next day, so got up and started to move around, rather than waiting it out another day. He ended up having one of his stitches rip out, and got an infection. So, use common sense and make sure he listens to all of the doctor's orders!

Also, make sure he goes back to have the sperm count rechecked!! Use another form of birth control until his count is zero!!

Your husband will have a MUCH easier recovery than you. His would be an outpatient thing with just some discomfort for a day or too. Yours will be a surgery with a much longer recovery time. Plus, his comes with less risk and is easier to reverse, should the need ever arise. You never know. I would vote for him to get it for sure.

My tubal was done during my c-section. A tubal is done through your belly button now! A small incision is made on the outer side of your belly button when they do the tubal. My ex sister in law had that done! It took her a week to recoup. For the guy it is a Little different! He will have to sit on a very soft cushion and not be able to have any sex for about 3 weeks. So really the decision is yours and his to make together. Research it more on line a Little more!! Good Luck!

A vasectomy is a much easier procedure that is done with a local anesthetic. You would have to have general anesthesia to have your tubes tied and may even have to stay over night in the hospital.

it is easier for your husband. He will only get about a 1/4 incision and for you they would have to open you up again. The vasectomy is 100% effective when you follow the doctors orders for after it is done.

Vasectomy... much lower risk of complications and infection, too. It just sounds worse b/c we've been progammed to think that a man's parts are "untouchable", and that a woman's body is less important than a man's...

You are SO lucky! You have been thru so much, it was so nice of your husband to step up to the plate and relieve you of this. It is much easier for the Man to heal. I have talked to many, they so no sweat. Just make sure he goes for his sperm count 6 months later to make sure it took! Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

its easier for the hubby to heal, its like same day surgery for them. Also if you every change your mind, he is reversible. Also if you plan to breastfeed then you can not take pain killers after a surgery without it affecting your baby. I would suggest if he is willing let him do it. Have you not already been through enough? Take care of that baby for a while. let your hubby take care of you
