all my life i've always been trying to lose weight, but i always seem to give up and resort back to my old habits. this time however i have never been so serious on losing weight. the past few weeks, i have been working out like a maniac at home (using a stepper machine and using variation of cindy crawford workout dvd's) my diet consists of mainly fruit and veg and drinking lots of water, i like to keep it simple. just today i stepped onto the scales and my god i saw that i've gained weight and not lost it, i felt so disheartened,i wanted to throw the scales out of the window, i was angry and upset at the same time. im 5 foot and 4 inches and weigh 12 stone now (was about 11.5 before). why did this happen??? HOW HOW HOW have people lost weight successfully in the past?

Even only eating fruit and vegetables you can still eat too many calories. A normal weight loss system will have you eating 2000-2200 calories per day with at least 30 minutes of workout per day.
Then you have to stick to at as a natural thing not as a "thing to lose weight".

By starting a diet and loosing hope and going back to your old routine just means you crashed from it and it wasn't the right diet for you ooooor you cheated too much. Here this is what I posted on another Diet question
Diet AND exercise is the best way to loose weight and keep it off. I recommend the split 40%carbs 40%protein 20%fat. 8 hours of sleep and a galon of water a day. Your body only heals from workouts or daily stress when you sleep (rem stage of sleep to be exact). Drinking a galon of water a day flushes out toxins and will help lower the amount of water weight your body retains. Just in water weight alone you can loose a good 3-4lbs in a month. 4-5 small meals a day vs. 2-3 large meals through the day keeps the metabolism up. I pre-plan my meals out buy in bulk and cook a bunch at one time and store for later that way if you get busy in the day your not forced to get in the fast food line. Don't over restrict your calories 1500-2000 is what I recommend depending on your activity level. NEVER skip breakfast, you've already went 10-12 hours without eating after dinner and while you slept. If you waited till lunch thats a good 16 hours without eating at all to a weight lifter thats called muscle catabolism and after repeated missed meals will definately reduce the metabolism. Vitamin C and omega 3 fatty acids keep cortisol levels in check. Always remember its not what the scale says its how you look and feel. Muscle weighs more than fat I'm only 5'7 but weigh 205lbs a lot of online crap says i'm obese lol but getting calobrated i'm only 12% bodyfat.
Fruit shouldn't be over induldged on since its natures carb and a quick carb at that which throws insulin in the blood stream. To burn fat you need to get your heart rate up for an extended amount of time.

One thing you need to keep in mind is never let youself get desparate about it...that's when you buy into all kinds of gimmicks. they say good things happen when you don't watch it like a hawk. you should probably consult a nutritionist/physician who specialize in weight loss with naturopathic background so he/she can look at your condition with your over all health status in mind and give advice that will work for the long run. don't stop the exercise just because you are not losing weight right now. it's good for you for life.

You sound healthy.. in case you nevertheless choose to lose some weight, have much less of what you're ingesting, shrink on snacks and soda with sugar in it. Are you ingesting an outstanding variety of chocolate bars or biscuits or stuff like that during between ? Then it relatively is have been given to be related to the parts you eat.. a sprint better than your physique needs each and every meal would desire to upload as much as the surplus weight you're speaking approximately. As somebody else below me says, pay attention with carbs and additionally with oily meals or sauces. in spite of the indisputable fact which you're bored to death, you could desire to perhaps ask your primary practitioner back with reference to the parts.

Eat less and forget these exercise machines etc. Walking is good for losing weight. Try not to eat after seven O'clock at night because your metabolism slows down at night

Because you have suddenly increased your workout, you are likely storing energy as your body is beginning to realize that it needs it. As well you are probably building a little muscle. It's more important to focus on your actual size. Maybe you have dropped a dress size and gained a few pounds in muscle.
Also, fruits and vegetables are good, but you still have to watch your calorie intake. 2000 calories is 2000 calories whether it comes from sugar and butter or spinach and apples.

hi
This plan really worked for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck

Keep working out. Everyday after each meal go on a 1-3 mile run/jog. Only eat veggies fruits and drink water and exercise a lot. I did this for a month successfully and I lost weight! I was so happy and if it worked for me it will work for you :D. And plz dont feel disheartened (or throw your scale you might need it ) keep trying and you will succeed.
I hope I helped you.

You need to first stop watching soap opras and hollywood crap thinking a person that looks like a cancer patient looks good. Protruding bones hurt, they are nasty looking, especially a pelvic bone protruding 4 inches. Take a good look at vegatarians, I have never seen one that is healthy looking. You have to eat healthy to look feel and be healthy, just eating grass wont cut it. When you starve yourself your body stores allot more fat because it does not know when it will get food next, thats why bulemics and anorexics are called skinny fat people. No muscle, all skin fat and bone. Not attractive at all, discusting in fact. American women are so stupid with this sh!t. It seems to be mostley white middle/upper class females that watch too much t.v.
