You ever hear "be careful what you wish for"? Sometimes I think prayers might work the same way. You ask for something, but what ultimately might be best for you isn't coming from that direction.
If we insist that prayers are never answered (if even some were answered, I'd say hope would keep people praying), even giving petition and voice to what you need can be therapeutic. You would only be praying and it would only help if you believed that somebody was listening, whether they answered back or not. Now that is a personal frame of mind.

Sometimes an answer to prayer isn't what you think it's going to be. Most Christians pray for God's will in any given situation. But I also think it's the very act of praying itself that brings comfort to a true believer, regardless of the outcome.

Well, it all depends on what you consider to be no answer. Sometimes the answer to your prayer is NO. I know that sometimes when I pray I am just talking to a friend about what's troubling me. And usually after putting all my troubles in His hands I feel better. Not only that, if you are praying for more patience or something like that sometimes He will just put you in situations that require you to be patient so you learn how to be patient. You may not like how He answered your prayer but in the end you have more patience right?

Only the completely disheartened would give up on their deep-seated yearning to be part of selfhood.
Why are people moving back to New Orleans? Just after 9/11, why did those women who suddenly found themselves widowed, bravely tell the world that they know they will see their husbands again? Why would a dog refuse to leave the graveside of its owner?
The reception of prayer is not always as a Christmas present; mostly, it is the receiving of "Something" greater than us; the calling we can hear as we gather in silence, to give honor, or tribute; this that we call "God", and many names, is not a cosmic Santa, but the perfect love we know in our deepest heart, regardless the shadows we fear in a world that chose to live as if God never had been.

When we pray, He hears all our prayers, but when we pray for things like 'let me win the lottery' and things like that, he isn't going to help with that. Sometimes the answer is subtle, sometimes if it is someone is someone sick and people are praying over that person you may actually see your prayer answered. Anyway, it's a simple little thing called FAITH.

sometimes prayer takes long time to be answer, but if you beleive in God,no matter what you know that surely your prayer will be answer.Beleiving in God makes someone pray when there noting else that is powerful than prayer to God.That why Jesus lay the example of what to pray for in the bible book of mathew.6:9 .But some prayer are not answer because they are not kind of prayer that God accept.

Regardless of what you may believe, the good Lord hears every last one of our prayers. Just because our prayers aren't answered as fast as we want them to be, doesn't mean the good Lord doesn't hear them. Sometimes people pray, only when they want something, if you're not praying, from your heart, why should God give you everything that you pray for. He knows us better than we know ourselves and he never gives us more, than we can handle. Please don't lose your faith in him.

The same reason Jesus did. He prayed in the garden that He would not have to die, but if it had to be He would. God answered this prayer with a "NO". Sometimes we get a no, God has a bigger plan for us than we know about.

There is always an answer to prayer. THere is Yes or No. Some people don't like the word No.
Why are people that pray through Jesus Christ seem to be the happiest.

God answers prayers, not always in the way we want them answered, but He does indeed answers the. Prayer works for me, even if I don' t get what I pray for, because God does what is best for me.
