Well, how am I racist if I came here from Mexico and family is Hispanic? Some people may contest that I was "not raised Hispanic" so I don't know the struggle of illegals. Let me tell you this... in terms of being raised "Hispanic" what does that mean? Eating burritos? Liking cumbia? Do you even realize how racist that in itself is?.... but if you mean speaking Spanish, etc. hell no. My mother insisted assimilation is the key to being successful in America. And guess what... she was right, being well spoken and versed in both English and Spanish opens doors and people like my relatives who insist on not learning English still do dead end jobs like yard work, food service etc. I really hate all those stubborn immigrants who only speak their native language and that is why people like me who wanna get ahead resent them for making us look bad, just like holding up Mexico flags in the protests. So what are your best reasons that I am supposedly racist? I will answer all in this page

"Alot of the anti-illegals (expecially on here) say racial slurs and spread stereotypes...what else are we supposed to think?? " Racists don't speak for all of us, the majority of Americans are against amnesty, so do you think the majority of America is racist, no. A small part of the group will try to make everyone look bad but ignore them. What about "You Dont Speak For Us"? A group of Hispanics against amnesty that my mother is a part of, check it out

"The focus of illegal immigration hatred is against Latinos. You never hear about anyone being upset with illegal immigration from Europe. " -- Dude, I don't like anyone from any country coming here illegally. The reason the immigration debate centers around Latinos is because more than 4/5ths of illegals come up from Mexico, Guatemala, etc and are Latino. So do you have any actual reasoning besides making an unsourced statement that I am supposedly racist? Since you said it centers around Latinos, that must mean I hate myself.....

Your mother is a very wise woman. She is right, your bilingual ability will open so many more doors for you. I do not understand people that think you have to stay at the bottom to keep your ethnic heritage alive. I am so glad that all immigrants did not think that way. What a wasteland this would have been otherwise. Keep on striving for the best and never look back.

I don't think being against illegal immigration is considered racist. However there seems to be a lot of racist remarks directed towards the illegal immigrants which isn't right. I can't see why anyone would call you a racist as long as you're not making derogatory remarks about a certain ethnicity. You have a right to be upset when it comes to illegal immigration but nobody has the right to spew ignorance with racial slurs, which I'm seeing a lot lately in regards to Hispanics.
My opinion may not count as much as someone who lives in the States, but being Hispanic I can understand how you feel. I'd be upset if my country (Canada) was facing the same issues yours is.

I'm not racist. I can't be. I'm from a very mixed background. MY grandfather was apache and hispanic. MY only problem are the ones who came here ILLEGALLY. They broke the law. That is my problem. My problem with the latino community is their charges of racism. Several of the organizations are all about founding the non-nation of Aztlan by any means they can use.

OUr immigration policies do need to be overhauled, but amnesty isn't the solution.

I certainly don't think its racist.

Illegals from any country use the benefits we pay for with our taxes. JUST BE LEGAL.

I can't figure out if you aren't a legally accepted worker from any other country, that you can get or should have a Social Security Number.

This a benefit for CITIZENS...We have worked and paid taxes for a lifetime to get this benefit.

I wonder if one solution could be the following.
Instead of sending so much work to factories in China, why couldn't we build them just over the border in Mexico. This would seriously reduce shipping for the companies and provide all kinds of factory work in their own country and stay near their families.

Just a thought!!

Something I heard recently is "Consider the amount of gasloline the illegals are using" We probably wouldn't have a shortage if 11 million illegals weren't buying their fuel in the USA.

I don't think you are racist. I'm a white woman who dates a black man. I don't enjoy alot of what my"race" does. My fiance doesn't some of the things his "race"does. I think it is natural for us to not like some of what any race does. Its not good to place labels,,,we know that.... but in this society its our only way of voicing our own thought so everyone understands. You have a good head on your shoulders ...and knowing both languages ... your both right for using to your advantage. I wouldn't say your racist I would say your quite the opposite! You know how you feel about yourself as a Hispanic surviving in this society...Your a woman also so your have the Hispanic woman ups and downs...and your surviving. I would say that your Stronger that most because your not afraid to voice how you feel and how you view the world. Race does come up in conversation in my life and honestly I've found that when you can have an intelligent conversation about race with a person of the opposite race and Both walk away with respect and knowledge of each other. You have grownas a HUMAN....

Continue on your journey and be blessed. .......

Because they're banking on bringing in literally a flood of people, they claim they can't find enough american workers or whatever, but for some of these outfits, it's time to either stop making buggy-whips, or automate, or scale back, or other answers that don't involve violating our labor laws, our immigration laws, or opening up the door for problems down the road. I think we can stay open for business and be fully legal, don't you?
By the way, for the record, I don't hate hispanics OR Mexicans.
My objection is solely to the mass introduction of illegal aliens into our country regardless of country of origin. We have laws, we have rules, and they need to be followed. Even if you think you're the king of France, if you want to do business in america, start reading about some of the laws...

I’m a legal citizen. This country’s destiny is supposed to be product of choices I make in elective representation and the laws and policies enacted in the course of those representatives’ terms of office. Subordinating that process — and the purpose it serves as truly ‘representational’ government — to favor the interests of invading populations of foreign nationals (illegal aliens) amounts to annulment of my legal vote and an abrogation of national sovereignty.

I’m for no amnesty. If I choose to break the law (even in acts of simple civil disobedience) I expect nothing less than confronting prosecution. Why then should they be treated more deferentially or without the same expectation?

I also believe that cost incurred in the course of their apprehension and expulsion should be paid through seizure and auction of their assets sufficient to cover those costs.

I also am opposed to exceptions made on cause of any illegal immigrant’s family status. Illegal aliens creating families here must be made to understand that doing so will have no post facto legitimizing effect upon their status here, and that consequence and grievance to their family is blame for them to bear alone.

Under aged children of illegal immigrant’s should be required to either accompany their illegal parent back to that parent’s nation of origin or otherwise remain in the US if the other parent has legal status and chooses to stay rather than accompany the illegal spouse back to the country of origin.

As for “contribution” made by illegal aliens during their stay here: The experience and knowledge they’ve gained through the stolen privilege of dwelling and working illegitimately here in this ‘First World Country” is compensation enough, since they can apply it to much advantage back in their country of origin.

On my very first posts on this forum, I was IM'd with a message that stated I was a racist and bigot. All I ever really say is we need border security and no amnesty for illegal aliens. And I agree with a lot of those Americans who feel their voice is not heard by our government. I support Americans and legal immigrants and was called arrogant for it. Does not bother me, I know me.

Racism is the only offense that illegals have in their arsenal. They are breaking the law and nothing they say will change that. They have absolutely no right to be here.

But if they can make this a debate about racism against Hispanics, then they think they can get the weak-minded among us to put pressure on our government to let them stay and to let their families join them...

such a deal....

I don't feel like your racist. I can't stand that anyone(no matter what race) doesn't want to better themselves in any way. Especially the people that set back and get food stamps and low income housing and just keep having babies to get more government assistance. Anyone can do better for themselves as long as they are able to(like an illness or disability). Don't worry. If feeling the way you do makes you racist I guess I am too. Besides, everyone feels racist about something, sometime in their life. As long as you don't carry anger and hate toward others, I wouldn't worry.
