thats a good question. i feel like i've been in school forever and since i'm going to pharmacy school, i have a couple more years to go than the average person. my motivation....let me think....it would have to be the rewards i'll get when i'm done with school, pleasing my parents and knowing i did something worthwhile with my life and i'm not just a bum. i'm motivated in knowing that maybe on day i'll be able to make a difference in someones life and be able to share experiences with others who too have succeeded in school or who are discouraged and want to quit. my pride keeps me motivated. my pride in refusing to quit and absolutely refusing to be a failure in life. thats my motivation....in knowing the my head wants to quit but my heart wont let me no matter how hard it may seem.

oh stop it i am the same way but you know what sometimes you just have to tell yourself "self stop being such a lazy *** do your gosh dam homework get your **** done do what you got to do so you won't end up like your family members"... works every time although you might be different also next year when you schedule your classes give your self like an AP or something because youll be more motivated to do better you'll feel like metaphorically speaking there is fire being lit below your *** LOL im a dork whatever do well in school stop skipping unless you want to be some loser that will never have a happy life and beautiful wife in the future

Motivation isnt always about physical reward. I stay motivated by feeling that I've learned something new. And that when someone asks me about something, I'll know the answer and if someone needs help on math, I'll know how to help them. Motivation for me is about feeling good about learning things. Even if you think what you're learning isnt important, it will probably come up again in school years to come.

Also, it feels awful to get bad grades when you know you could have done something to get better grades.

okay my suggestion for yo is to join so me sort of arts program. for example, choir, band, private lessons, a sport. a dance class etc.. the reason being is because they teach you discipline. studies show that if u are in one of those yo are gurenteed that your grades will be better then someone who isnt involved in one. at my 9th grade graduation the only people that got called down for the 4.0gpa all through juniorhigh were people in choir.
yeah your right you dont get rewarded right away, but in the end you realise that it all pays off. great job/career, wealthy, and even the great feeling of knowing that u acomplished a challenging tast. so keep up on it. talk to your parents about doing some sort of art program. it will help i guerentee it. (u have to work at it though and not give up!! =]

My advice on motivation to do well in school is to study hard for tests, quizzes, and exams. No cheating or procrastinating. If you need help, join tutor or study groups in the class. It doesn't hurt to ask for help from your teacher/professor. Yes you do get rewarded with good grades and getting on the honor roll. (Do schools still have honor rolls?) You always get rewarded by your parents too, when they're proud of you for your efforts. Study hard without distractions and get plenty of sleep. Study alone or with friends or family. Go to study rooms or libraries to study in peace if at home isn't possible. If your class comes with study sheets, use them, inc. syllabuses. And take plenty of notes. It'll make you feel proud, even with good grades to go into college or get a scholarship; if it college, and want to go beyond it, maybe another degree.

i know that i have to have good grades to do what i want in the future and i know the grades dont count until the semester but its easier to stay with good grades then it is to do badly and try to come up from a D or C to an A or B at the last minute ya know

I hate school but I just think about the future. If I do well in school now and actually do the work then I will be able to get a good career later on. I am a straight A student and I think it will pay off. Think about it, if you fall behind then you will end up having to do a lot more work later.

Set yourself a goal you can achieve through school and achieve it. Rinse and repeat.
