I don't think it would be the trippy kind, man. Don't make any shroom tea with that one! Those usually grow in early spring time.

Probably a 'puffball'. If it is still white and solid, it can be sliced and cooked.
Any of various fungi of the genus Lycoperdon and related genera, having a ball-shaped fruiting body that when pressed or struck releases the enclosed spores in puffs of dust.

I Live in Indiana also and the mushroom your describing sounds like a puff ball. If you step on it it will send a plum of purple colored spores around in the area. Don't breath them in it will make you sick.

Probably the Belusa Decrosis which is highly poisonous! Check the underside and see if has an orange tint!

That's a puffball. They are delicious fried in butter but, don't eat it without checking it out for sure. Some types are poisonous.

It's the Hoosier Father White Basketball Fungus. Don't touch it. It's probably wearing a white Dago tee and it'll slap you silly because it's probably drunk.
