I bought some horse radish. I really like the tast of it. Have any suggestions on what to eat it with?

If you bought the root itself, use a peeler or paring knife to make thin curls. Eat them with ham, roast beef, or anything that strikes your fancy. You can make interesting condiments by grinding some of the root and mixing it with sour cream or lekvar(prune butter). We enjoy the flavor contrast of having horseradish at the same meal as something sweet (like nut or apricot roll or sweet breads).

Obviously beef - the traditional accompaniment, but also great with white fish - particularly haddock, halibut and hake.

The American fast-food restaurant chain Arby's uses horseradish in its "Horsey Sauce", which is provided as a regular condiment, alongside ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. This is not a common practice at its major competitors. In addition, the US fast-food outlet Popeye's serves "quarter pounders with 'radish," in its stores on the East Coast. The reason it doesn't offer this meal in its stores elsewhere is something of a mystery.

Horseradish sauce made from grated horseradish root and cream is a popular condiment in the United Kingdom. It is often served with roast beef, but can be used in a number of other dishes also.

Additionally, since real wasabi is very expensive, even in Japan, most Japanese restaurants around the world actually serve a horseradish mixture that's been dyed green. In fact, some imitation wasabi makers, such as S&B, call horseradish "western wasabi".

Horseradish works really well on just about anything...horse radish paste is better. Try it on steak, fried eggs on toast, stir fries especially either chopped or in paste. Its a really versatile food, mix and match see what works for you. Also the paste spread thinly on crackers or bread is great!

It's great with roast beef, or on a sandwich with some mayo. Can make dipping sauce for shrimp by adding chili sauce or ketchup, some mayo and spices. When I make homemade BBQ sauce, I add horseradish. Sometimes I just add some to a casserole (almost any kind).

Serve it in a side dish alongside au jus for prime rib. Or put it in mashed taters.

The creamy horseradish is simple, sour cream and HR to taste. Be sure to use the raw HR.

Roast beef, hot or cold, is a classic. It's also nice mixed with some cream and served with smoked mackerel. Try it with anything you like!
