I was wondering if anyone could tell me which car is a better buy: a toyota corolla or a nissan sentra??? Both cars will be between the years of 2000 and 2005. I dont want to pay more than $10,000 for the car after taxes, title, and registration. Also, I am getting ready to turn 21 and this will be my first car. As a matter of fact, I just learned how to drive, and im still little nervous on the road. ANY suggestions will help!!!! Thank You So Much!!!!

Toyota. Nissan learned from American automakers to assemble engines in Mexico. Nissan motors now don't last like the early 80s models.

You really can't go wrong either way. You should pick the car that has the features that you like best. Personally, I think Sentras are better looking cars but I have also heard that Toyota interiors last a long time.

I would say any Toyota, Nissan or Acura will be a reliable car provided it hasn't been modified incorrectly or abused.

From what I've heard (but I'm no expert) the toyota will probably hold its value better and be cheaper to service. It might be worth checking with dealerships about service intervals and what a normal service costs. Also check up on the costs of common spare parts, like replacing a broken headlight/taillight, a door mirror and things like that. You know, the things that get bumped sometimes...

Also look at the gas mileage. That's pretty important these days, too.

Hope this helps and enjoy your 'new' car!

Toyota Corolla will probably run better and longer.. but being a new driver, I would look into safety ratings on both cars before deciding.

Toyota and Honda can't be beat for dependability. So the corolla would be my pick. Or a Honda civic would be great.

I'd go with the Corolla. Check with the Kelly's Blue Book.

go with the toyota...they are great mileage cars, they last a long time, great gas mileage, and they hold their value better than nissan.
