A book of the Bible. It has a lot of nonsense that people consider "prophecies", but were probably aimed at the contemporary governments in Jesus' time and not current events. That won't stop people from making stuff up, though.

If you are speaking of the book of Revelation in the Bible.....
It is a revealing of what is to come. It was written by the apostle John, while he was living in exile (for being a preacher of God's word and a witness of Jesus Christ) on the island of Patmos, possibly about 96 A.D., after he received the contents of it in a vision.
Mankind’s turbulent history will soon reach a catastrophic climax, as God and Jesus Christ execute judgment on today’s wicked system, replacing it with “a new heaven and a new earth,” where even “death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:1, 4)
It is written mostly in symbolic language that can be understood by reading the books of Daniel and Ezekiel, among others.

The Book of Revelation is the book of the future of this Earth and it also talks about Heaven and the New Jeruselem. Rev chapter 20 It also has letters of seven churches. That's the first 3 chapters. It goes on to talk about the tribulation and Israel. And the Beast and the dragon and Agnels and trumpets. Anyone who tells you you do not need to understand this book is a fool. I advise you to go to church, becoem a Christian and Read it. Because it WILL come to pass. THis book is written figureatively. Jesus spoke figuratively. But he also spoke in a lanuage people could understand. People are either fascinated with this book are totally stay away from it.

Revelations is the vision given to the Apostle John in the last years of his life. It is a book of prophecy which are written in symbolism. It is a difficult book to read and requires much faith and research to understand. It speaks of nations as waters and governments as mountains and organizations as winged beasts with horns and crowns. It's been a book of controversy and contradiction for centuries. Many say it's a mystery, some will tell you it's pure crap, the ramblings of a senile old man. But that's not true. The answers are in there and if you really want to know you'll be willing to seek for them. Best wishes in your quest.

This is the only book in the Bible that promises a blessing to any who read it. So if you haven't read it yet, get to it! We could all use more blessings . . .
It is meant to prepare the Christian church by showing the events that are to come so that we won't be deceived. Many people are scared by it because it's about "the end of the world," but if you read the entire book, you'll find that the believers of Jesus Christ end up with a pretty good life.

The first part is written in present tense. It is a letter to the early churches letting them know what they were doing right and what they needed to change.
The rest is future tense. When we read history, it is easy to put peices together and understand what happened. It is way more difficult to take the pieces of what will happen and understand it.
Especially since John was seeing and experiencing things for which he had no current words to describe to his fellow man at the time, so he had to use words that he knew to describe things that he had never seen before and didnt have words for.
God could have given him the proper name for these items, but then as now, we would not have understood what in the world John was talking about either.
It would be like asking George Washington to describe a computer to his troops. If he used the word, they still would not know what he was talking about. By describing it with words that his troops could understand, still they wouldnt know exactly what he saw or was explaining.
Never fear, for God has said that all will be revealed and that gives me peace and calm to wait until I can know all.

The book of Revelation is supposed to be the revelation to John. It is said to contain the signs and events of the end of days and the return of the Christ. Others see it simply as the ramblings of a confused man. You choose, read it and see what you think.

"The book of Revelation is based on or is a fuller explanation of Christ's Discourse on Things to Come and abounds in expressions used by Jesus. Some of it's imagery seems to be drawn from Ezequiel and Daniel. God himself dictated it, through Christ, by an Angel , to John who wrote it down and sent the complete book to the Seven Churches."
