I have a red small patch of skin that goes scaly and flakey, I put Vaseline intensive care, which makes it go red but removes the flakes but then goes back to normalish colour. however after about couple of days later it comes back with the flakiness, and becomes itchy, I have to repeat the proccess. Anybody got any tips? or any solutions?

Regular Vaseline on it over night will help.
My Dr. prescribes 2 percent hydro-cortisone and it works great, but cost about $15.00 per tube. You can buy the 1 percent across the counter and it's not expensive. Neosporin works also. I think it's the petroleum base that does the trick.
I have had a few patches for many years and this keeps them under control.
Severity is the key. My friend has massive eczema on the palms of her hands and almost nothing heals them. She has to wear gloves most of the time.
I hope these suggestions help.

it sounds like eczema. m,y 2 year old daughter had it. go to your doc because they stuff is terrible and it made her itch profusely. she takes Zyrtec for it and we haven't had a problem. if u itch too bad go to the freezer and make an ice compress or grab a bag of cold veggies to stop the itches. because if u scratch it will spread and get worse and make u miserable!

sounds like psoriasis
Go to the doctor and they can tell you for sure. If it is there is no cure. You would just have to get meds from the doctor to ease the discomfort.
