My daughter suddenly has the need to know her IQ. I would also like links to web pages to find her IQ. I don't really want to pay for her results but if that's the only option so be it. I would like a children based IQ test, because she took a free one on funeducation.com for adults and she got 108, but I'm not sure that's correct. Thank you in advance!

Please understand, I am not trying to find fault in my daughter. She simply wants to know. She has always done exceptionally well in school, but wants to know how she ranks to other kids her age : )

Pretty good for a kid. Average for an adult is between 100 and 115. Alot of it depends on which test she is given too, there are many.

Dead center average IQ for any age is 100. Standard scores are designed so that half the population is below 100, half of it is above 100. But the IQ of the majority of individuals will fall in the range from 90 to 110, so that whole range is called average. Some call the range from 110-119 "high average" and the range from 80-89 "low average". The IQs of the vast majority of people will fall within those three ranges.

The original idea for IQ of children was that it was supposed to be the percentage of the mental age divided by the chronological age of the child. So a ten-year-old who thinks like an eight-year-old has an IQ of 80, a ten-year-old who thinks like a twelve-year-old has an IQ of 120. More modern formulations have gotten away from that idea.

Same formula doesn't work for adults, but by 18 we're supposed to be all over IQ already and obsessed with other numbers, like salary. Or Yahoo! Answers Level...

The average IQ is 100 -- by definition. If your kid scored 108 on a test for adults, she is brighter than average, but by how much is not clear: 108 x 18/11 is 176, and if that number proves valid, she's a genius. But you really need to give some age-appropriate tests to be sure, especially if the number is important to you. By the way, any test will give a number which could be off a bit, so don't put too much stock in a single reading. One free test (also for adults) can be found at tickle.com.

now, i might be completely wrong, just to let you know, so it's much safer to find results on tickle.com, and i think they will give you averages for the statistics

The answer is 100. This is the strict definition of IQ: the ratio of your mental age to your actual age; your performance is measured against the average performance of people of your same age.
