How can you believe such rubbish when so many other crosses and Christians were destroyed. With your logic, you're suggestiing that if one cross survives then God must be real? Sounds more like insanity to me. I guess you don't understand probability or the law of averages either.
The current war on terror is just another Holy War.
Lots of Americans still believe that Iraq was involved in 9/11 although Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11 and the media rhetoric to justify the invasion in the first place was nothing more than a politically orchestrated litany of lies. That's religion for you.
President George W Bush has made it clear that he reads the Bible, prays to God, and that God told him to invade Iraq. Very recently he referred to the USA’s war against terror as a war against Islamic Fascists. The other side, the Islamic Fascists, of course refer to G W Bush and the USA as Christian Infidel Dogs and so the Holy War of Words goes on, like the Axis of Good (Christianity) at war against the Axis of Evil (Islam).
The above is quite mild to all the evil religious words being thrown by each side, but of course, it doesn’t stop there does it. The same sides, Christianity and Islam, are physically at war with each other, murdering innocent men, women and children in the process.
Humanity has a horrific track record of atrocities and killing caused by religion, and this war seems to be no different, just another Holy War in the name of religion, inflicting it’s madness once again onto humanity. Religion is so evil, it has even infected the President of the United States of America.

It is nothing amazing, consider the number of beams in the towers that had the potential to APPEAR as such under the circumstances. The odds are very good that a number of "crosses" or beams have an appearance of being crosses. Combined with the mood and some individuals propensity to SEE what they want or are LOOKING for.
GET OVER IT!!!!

i've read alot of the answers given upto now, and i find there are still alot of angry people out there, i live in the uk and i was lucky, i didn't lose n e 1 in the 9/11, but i do beleive it happened for a reason, and yes, maybe at god request, but we shouldn't question why did he not save lives, but thank him for the lives he did save, as these people are the 1's he still has work for, he left them on earth as they must be able to give the world so much more. my heart and thoughts go out to the survivors and the family and friends who lost loved 1's in the 9/11, it only seems like yesterday its still so fresh in our hearts and minds........god bless

Interesting, the cross calls us to remembrance that God and Jesus are alive and well on planet Earth. God is our creator and our sustainer throughout all eternity. Jesus lives in the hearts, minds and souls of all who choose to follow Him so let us go forth and be light in a dark world! Peace!

There were well in excess of 1,000,000 beam crossings that occured at right angles.
Many beams pulled apart or were cut by the rest of the mass of the building.
As many potential 'crosses' as there were, that we see only ONE such proportioned cross is more proof AGAINST a personally involved deity than it is FOR one, because it's in rough keeping with what statistically would have been expected.
Not proof, sorry. Neat though.

Are you kidding me? It was lucky, even if God and Jesus existed, it's highly unlikely they were at the world trade centers just to save a stupid cross. Why not save a few lives while they're at it?

We do tend to see what we want to see, don't we? Was Jesus trying to tell us that he supports the actions of the hijackers?
I'm not sure what you think you know, but I know that God said "Don't kill".
Or perhaps you are trying to discredit Christianity. God said "Don't make false accusations against your neighbor." The idea that your neighbor is only the person who lives next door is a human-created loophole that goes against the law of God.
Re-apply yourself to seeing the truth and some of the delusions will begin to disappear.
Good luck.

I think that's positive, uplifting and a good way to find some light shed on a day of gloom. I'm not sure our Lord and Maker would take time to shape out a few steel crosses to make us feel better. Rather, we should look at the way we Americans bound together after that and tried to take care of each other. Doesn't make for interesting internet pictures, but to me, it goes much further.
Give me the compassion of my fellow man as a symbol of my Maker's love any day of the week.

OK, let's do a comparison:
Christian god: One tatty steel cross.
Allah: Several thousand dead infidels.
If you want to 'see' a god in the events of 9/11, then on the evidence presented you should be worshipping Allah.
