I have been sick for more than 3 months. I have some good days and mostly bad. I had not gotten sick in 20 yrs except for maybe a sniffle.
I can't take hardly any meds at all. For pain or anything really.
I had a blood test done. My Dr. said I have high cholesterol/ heart disease. My chest hurts everyday as if someone punched me, it is hard to breath sometimes and I get dizzy. I have no appetite. I am loosing weight but my Cholesterol is high. EKG? had been ran and it was ok.
Dr tried 3 different meds to lower my cholesterol and everyone I am allergic to. Now they say well we cannot do anything else for you. On top of that, I have no insurance since I have been so sick and have no worked. Grant it I am under a lot of stress, and have good reason to be. I try to keep my chin up hoping for some breakthrough. However when a Dr. tells you there is nothing we can do anymore what I am to say? Did they do all they were suppose to? Please someone help! is there someone i can talk to? Im 44

mazell41.. No they haven't done anything but what I have mentioned. I don't have insurance so I am sure they don't care.
I would refuse heart surgery if they wanted to do that. Since I seen what my dad went through and now some of my friends and family. I just want to get well and go back to work. I am tired of starving and threats on my home going in forclosure. I am selling eveything I have...stuff that I got from inheritances or have collected. I just want to get well. But I feel theses Drs. see have no insurance so they don't really care. They do just enough to say they tried.

Ok I will add this. I do not have high blood presure at all. Well at least not when they check it.
And my body is starving from no appetite and of course I can afford much food anyway. I wish there was someone I could talk to about this. However I wounder if there is anyone out there that really cares since the whole world has troubles anyway. I think it is all about how much money someone has as to rather you get help or not, Also if your a child or not. I am not trying to sound negative but I have tried so hard to find help. This is my last hope except for GOD and I guess if it my time to go then I will. I am ready...

kitybaby54 here is what i ahve found.
Program Costs
The Rice Diet Program costs are $2300 for the first week; $1000 for the second week; $800 for the third week; $700 for the fourth week; and each additional week costs $539. The fees for new patients include a physical examination, lab work, meals, and daily medical care. Lodging costs are extra.

This means that an average eight week stay would cost roughly $7000 plus the costs of eight weeks of lodging which would probably bring the costs to at least $10,000. This is an extremely expensive program, especially when considering there are effective weight loss supplement on the market that you can take at home, often at a cost of about $50 per month.

Now I am still searching for the diet. Since I am broke this place will not work for anyone unless they are wealthy. Like I said it is about how much money one has as to how much help one can get.

ok I have found 2 of three meds the Dr. gave me. One is Lovastatin, the other is Vytorin and I can not remember the other or find the bottle. I may have thrown it away.
Also sorry about typos.

I am sorry you are so sick. There is a diet that was devevloped by Dr. Kempnter in 1939,from DukeUniversity Medical Program..It was designed to help prevent and/or treat hypertension, diabetes, obesity, heart disease. If you just type in Rice Diet. You will have enough sites to set up a coheisive program for yourself. I lost 8 pounds the first week I tried it. and after 4 days I found my self no longer wheezing and being able to breathe better. After 2 weeks I had lost 15 pounds. At first I was hungry but once you get into the groove it gets easy. I found if you rotated the 1st,2nd, and 3rd weeks into days and you just kept doing this over and over ,this program was definately doable. Good Luck.

I am older than you but have high cholesterol also. I was tried on several different meds. not allergic but they just didn't work for me. Finally Dr. tried me on Vytorin & it lowered my numbers by more than 60 pts. I don't know if that is one you have tried or not but is the only one that has helped me. Sounds as if you're in real trouble with your heart. Have they suggested an angioplasty with a stent? If so, let them do it. It really does help. Good luck to you & God Bless.
