is they are closed they are alive, if they are alive they are ok to cook. To double check, tap the shell, sometimes they react. If they are open, throw them out don't even hesitate

They are probably all right if they are still closed. When you cook them they should open up. If they don't then they are dead and you should toss them. Also check the smell and take a small taste too to see if flavor is off. I have had ptomaine poisoning from a bad seafood dish at a fine restaurant on Cape Cod no less, and the experience was awful.

Hopefully they are but need to be cooked right away. If, when ready to cook them, they have any odor at all, toss 'em. It is not worth the sickness they could cause. In future, may I suggest that when you buy something like that, either mark it on the calendar or put a sticky note(fairly large one) on the fridge to remind you they're there.

They may be OK, but look at it this way...they probably didn't cost all that much...at least not as much as a trip to the emergency room would cost you in time, pain and suffering, and money if you're not insured.

Don't risk it.

Not - two days would be tops. Throw them away - you do NOT want to get food poisoning!

Don't risk it. Food poisoning from bad shellfish is nasty.
