usually about 8 grand, you need it to be done properly, there are alot of requirements in the building regs concearned with loft conversions, from the types of windows to the laying of new floor joists to the fireproofing of staircases and escape routes,

get plenty of quotes and get it done well!

A decent builder will charge a fair bit but will keep you posted all the way through the building works. Looking at 10K to 15K depending on how much development work needs to be done within the structure of the house.

its not that straight forward, you might need planning permission, it may need alot of work to make the floor Strong enough, do you need heating, window/s, also are you able to do the work yourself,or on the cheap with the aid from friend in the building trade?? a ball park figure 10 - 35k depend on whats involved

i was quoted £2 - £3000 last summer. Get a few quotes from different builders cause the differences are huge!

let them put sleeping bags on floor and share the rest of the house... charge more that locals do \
you are going to have to talk to them too, good luck.

Look at their car interior= see how it was kept. Usually a hint!

Need more info... happy to climb ladder on need to put in stair case? want a window.... dormer or velux? To put in staircase and dormer windows will need planning and will cost £10k+

My opinion. Need more information. Do you have stairs--do you want stairs? Do you have electricity--do you want electricity? Do you have heat--do you want heat? Do you want rustic or do you want nice or ultra modern. So many things to consider. Get someone to come in to do an estimate. (maybe more than one)
