Hell is a place of consciousness-ref Lk 16:23,24; a place of DARKNESS-Mt 8:12; eternal separation from your loved ones-ref Lk 13:28; not the slightest hope of release-ref Mt 25:46. There is the torment of memory in hell. You may remember every single chance you had to repent, yet you refused-ref Lk 16:27,28.

Hell is a place where people experience the Just consequences for the harm they did to others (by their actions or by their inaction). The punishment will fit the crime.
The Bible indicates that there are different levels of punishment in hell. And the language used in the Bible is consistent with Hell not being necessarily eternal.

"Hell" is described within Christian terms as the place where people go if they do not devote their lives to Jesus Christ, accept him as their saviour, and repent for their sins. It's not necessarily people who have done "bad things", it's people who do "bad things" and then don't repent for them later.
As for Hell itself the traditional view of it, with hellfire and brimstone and pitchforks, is a view that was brought about primarily in the Middle Ages. It's seen as the prison for the Devil and fallen angels (demons), a place where sinners are eternally tormented by said Demons, and the last light of God's love and compasion cannot be felt (arguably the worst punishment of all). A Christian friend of mine described it more as being in a room devoid of all light where there is nothing but pain and torment, which is certainly a more harrowing vision than firey pits and demons with pitchforks.

Sorry to inform you, but we are the ones who send ourselves to hell, by our wrong choices in this life.
Think about what you said: would a savior really be a savior if he sent people to a place of torment?
He would be more like the opposite, i.e the devil.

remember me dummy??
hell is a place of torture, hate, fire and pure evil...THAT IS NOT A FAIRY TALE!! no one sends us there...the deciisions are up to us... only YOU CAN SEND YOURSELF (it will be your fault not anyone elses, every decision you make is yours)...GOD is offering us an everlasting life of happiness..where all pain and suffering, starvation, tears, hurt, betrayal and sadness etc end...and only God can end it...its not to late to accept jesus into your heart as lord and savior and turn your life around...it doesnt matter how big and bad and tough you are are... you WILL BE AFRAID and you'll drop down on your knees but then it would be too late...you wont regret it if you turn to god, he is every where.. he is here to help those who ask in faith and seek....if you cant make it to a local christian church, read a bible from the beginning..

We all (our souls not bosdies) live eternally. We either chose Christ as our Lord and Savior and accept His payment He made for us on the Cross and live for ever with Him or we chose to not believe and accept Him and live for ever in eternal hell, seperate from Him, with no peace, no rest, in eternal pain and suffering. Wishing we had only believed before it was to late. Go to biblegateway.com and search for hell, damnation, pit and it will give you biblical descriptions of hell.

Hell is where you decide to go. It is a choice, kind of like answering the stupid quesitions on YA posted by Athiests, one chooses to "go there."

I am going to describe to you a plane that is in a higher dimension, all but beyond our comprehension, and you want me to tell you about it like I was describing the inside of the courthouse down town?
Which one of us is nuts?
