I believe god was invented by primitive man to explain things that couldn't otherwise be explained at the time.
That is not to say that he isn't real. I also believe in subjective reality. That is to say, if you believe with all your being that there is a god who controls your destiny, then that belief will shape your behavior. Thus, god has an influence in the "real" world, making god real through you. The more people who believe the same thing, the "more real" their god becomes.
If some people choose to believe in a floating mass of spaghetti who turns people into pirates, then the FSM becomes real through their behavior.

From the minds of the ignorant or the part of we humans that is not satisfied with the word, 'unknown'. We created him because we needed to believe in something more powerful than us, something that could give us meaning and significance. God is nothing more than an illusion created by those of us that seek an answer but cannot accept no answer to what is so mystic.

Alright, here goes. Pay attention closely. It's eery how much sense this makes.......

God is an alien. There were many of them. But they had their own science projects going in another galaxy. Our God created life here. He messed up the first time, telling us what we COULDN'T do which of course meant we had to do it. He made us, what did he expect? But one of God's nemisis' thought he'd let the cat out of the bag and show us how ignorant we were really being So we ate from the tree of good and evil and hereinafter have always known good and evil. Too bad we couldn't have stayed ignorant. So when we ate from the tree he told us not to eat from, he got mad because we could figure things out the same as he could. (We were just new at it and he had all that built up wisdom from being immortal.) We know he was mad because the scriptures say he's talking (to his other godlike friends, possibly the serpent, too) saying we've got to stop this before they become like us! Anyway, when we screwed up, he knew he'd have to kick us out of the garden so we wouldn't understand about the Tree of Life (which would have kept us living forever as long as we kept snacking on it). so he erased it (flood) and started over.

Gen 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

Gen 2:18
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. (who do you think he's talking to?)

Gen 3:5
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Gen 3:22
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Where'd he come from? Same place we did. His parents. But he's much older (remember, he eats from the tree of life) and has much huger grasp on technology, sciences, and all that stuff which allows him to be considered omnipotent in our books. His race understands they can't have alot of babies because of the immortal thing.

He was betting that our ideas and understanding of things wouldn't expand too much because we'd die after a short time whereas he benefits from ions of experience and knowledge from others in the same boat. Now that we're so good at keeping track of history, we're progressing....kinda. Wonder how close we are to understanding the other major mysteries of the Universe?

He came from his Father, who created him along with other spirit children to inhabit a world like ours. He created us, and in so doing, we are also able to become Gods and Goddesses. It is a continuing cycle. I think of it like a big family. You have grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents, and so on, as far back as you can look. It's the same with God. He had a father and a mother. He had brothers and sisters. The family unit was modled after his family. People say that it couldn't be like that, but this is my answer to that. You have a mother right? Well, so do I. She is my only mother, but then I'm a mother too. Does that mean that my mother is no longer my mother? No. It just means that I am like my mother. She has raised me, taught me and shown me how to be like her. It's the same with God. He made us, He gave us a plan to follow- scriptures, He gave us a way to become like him- Christ. I just think of it as a big family. We are all brothers and sisters. All part of one big whole.

We all have the right and the priveledge of the knowledge that we too, one day, could become like God- not God himself, but like him. He will always be our God, but we have the opportunity to become as He is. Doesn't change the fact that he is God, or that He is greater then us all, it just shows that He loves us and wants us to become like Him.

I believe that God -this imaginary being- came from people's need to find answers.
peoples need to find a saviour, and a reason for this non-meaningful mysterious existence over the earth.

Reading the history of the antient nations will help us understand the history of the concept of god.

God, the Creator, has always been. The Creator is not created or invented by anyone else..if He were, then He wouldn't be the Creator..would He.
